ADSL drops out during Idle but ADSL2+ stays on

Just another data point. I am on ADSL (2+ is not available to me) with Netspace in Melbourne and ever since I installed Win 7 a few days ago, I seem to lose Internet connectivity as described above. The modem lights look OK but Win 7 can't see the Internet. This can happen every 20 minutes or so or a few hours later.

If I replace the drive with my Win XP Pro, then the connection stays put.

I don't have a solution yet.

Not sure if your router has the option, mine does but on a "hidden" service page (i have a Belin N1 Vision) but there is options to set adsl+adsl2/adsl2 only/adsl only

If you have that option, set it to adsl only

edit: i see you already tried and succeeded with that very solution.

That'll teach me to be less lazy at 2:37am in future and read the entire thread properly
