OSx86 - Thinking about picking up an HP Mini 1000

Recommended Posts

As suggested by the pre-cursor to the title, has anyone here loaded an HP Mini 1000 with a "fruit" OS? If so, was it pretty straighforward?

I quick search of the Googles reveals stories of many who have tried and failed.

Thanks in advance.

Getting retail Leopard running on a hp mini 1000 is not an easy task if you don't know the basics. first you need to get a dump of your acpi dsdt so you can fix it, then kexts aka drivers for audio, LAN.

you must have a working install of mac os x to do everything then you can do the install from a USB drive. After all that you can update just like a real mac.

I'm pretty sure Rudy used a retail dvd. ;)

Probably also used another cd for boot loader, kexts, etc..
