It has been confirmed that Portsmouth will become the first Premier League club to go into administration on Friday.

Balram Chainrai, Pompey's fourth owner of the season, has been trying to find a new buyer ahead of a potential High Court winding-up order on Monday.

He announced earlier this week that the South Coast outfit would enter administration on Friday to avoid being wound up if a buyer could not be found.

Negotiations were held with four interested parties, but the undisclosed buyers failed to prove they had the funds to buy the club by a deadline of Thursday afternoon.

Andrew Andronikou of accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young had set the deadline and will now act as the administrator.

"We made a conscious decision to put it into administration tomorrow morning," he confirmed.

Andronikou will issue a detailed statement on Friday outlining how the club will be restructured and made attractive for a potential buyer.

But Portsmouth will now be docked nine points as a result of entering financial administration, which is a form of bankruptcy protection.

Avram Grant's men are already bottom of the Premier League and the deduction will leave them with just seven points and facing almost certain relegation.

Pompey would have to climb to 17th place, currently occupied by Hull City on 24 points.

Bridge didn't shake his hand! Terry extended it but hell no walked right past!

I thought he might just so as to not create more news about it, but I don't blame him for not doing so. Chelsea fans are bang out of order for booing Bridge each time he is on the ball though, that is so low.

I didn't expect anything else but this.. I would've been surprised had he shook hands with him.. I agree with you abt booing him for this by Chelski fans.. they are way out of order on this one.. it's hard enf for him to be on the same pitch as him and not kicking his a** let alone to shake hands with the scum..

Craig Bellamy on the Terry/Bridge situation: "You guys make a lot more of it. I know what JT is like and nothing surprises me about him. Everyone knows what he's like. But that's off the pitch. On it he's an outstanding player and a great captain."

good game so far!

3-1!!!!! and a red card!

Ballack off!

Forum posts are not limited in size Rappy, no wonder your post count is so high :p

If you want to talk about a game, at least mention your thoughts on the game and not just the score as it happens :/

    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
