Oh we're still quite capable of f*cking it all up,and maybe Liverpool will be stupid enough to give it their best against us.

I would rather see Chelsea thump Liverpool even if it dents our title hopes :p

Nah of course a Liverpool win would be ideal for us, but I think Chelsea have played that well this season they deserve it. Hey it would even be nice to see Arsenal finally pick up something, but I don't think they'll play out their last games good enough to even get second, we'll see.

I think Martin O'Neil has done a god job at Villa. ?You could say he's done probably just about as much as he can with villa, unless he starts to freshen things up by either one or two signings or tactical (again would require player changes). ?

I'd put him on par with the likes of David Moyes and Roy Hodgeson, good managers who get good results from their sides, although Fulham have 41 points, they've also got far in Europe, ?so they could be higher without the troubles of Europe. ?If you compare O'Neil side with the likes of Stoke, Brum and Blackburn, you thing he's got the better squad.

I think a good club where he can build things would be his sort of job, other than that I think he should carry on at villa and get into Europe, realistically thats all thats can be done with villa. ?

Yeah Pompey gone down, ah well, it might mean any new owners has to do things properly, not like the others who painted over walls which were falling down.?

Do you think O'Neil should be sacked?

For taking Villa from the brink of relegation to a team consistently challenging for a European spot?

Yes, it would be 'stupid' for Liverpool to try and win a game of football against Chelsea

If the season wasn't over last week, it is now. Unlucky for United, really feel for Berba, just United don't play to his style.

We've done well this season considering the losses of Tevez and Ronaldo though. I hope Fergie plays a few more young'uns in the final few games to get some more experience. Getting 2nd is priority now.

That is always a million dollar question! I would say that IF, a BIG IF, we make 4th spot he should be safe! There have already been murmurings about his position. Problem is that Villa need one or two real stars and are not known as a club that spends much of it's money! As far as I know Villa are pretty sound financially and I suppose they want to keep it that way! They are in about 25th place in terms of earnings worldwide. This does not always mean that much because all the top clubs have huge debts and they all show (Report) operating losses!

O'Neill with enough time and funds can definitely get far in Europa, seeing how you've beaten Chelsea,Liverpool and United this year you might have a good chance for the CL spot but I think Manchester City's cash will make it before you.Less 'slumps' in the league are a must though.

I think the last thing a Liverpool fan wants to see is United winning the 19th,in that sense helping them would be 'stupid'.

Stupid to surrender a Champions League spot?

Imo they've already lost that long ago,5th place is the best they can do.

Forgot about the Man Utd game yesterday due to nice weather and spending time with the GF, but we remembered about 6pm and put MOTD on record as we were heading off for a BBQ.

Watched it when we got in (MOTD), all I have to say is LOL. Berbaflop better get his ass 4000 miles away from Old Trafford this summer, one of the worst signings for 30 million in ages. I don't care if he has skill, one of the laziest players ever, does not fit Man Utd/Premier League football.

Well done this season Chelsea, hopefully the double is yours! I give credit where due, I'm not a football fanboy nutcase like half of you in here :p

It was like he was playing good for Spuds to be noticed by a big club and after Utd signed him he put his feet up a bit and relaxed.. that is a big game coming for us soon.. history is on our side and we haven't lost a derby game for quite some time.. RvP is expected to return for the game so expectations are high..

He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack :p :D

Robin Van Persie is back in the Arsenal squad for the North London derby at Tottenham.

The Dutch striker has been sidelined since mid-November with ankle ligament damage but is expected to feature at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night - albeit from the substitutes bench.

"He is in the squad for tomorrow's game," revealed Ars?ne Wenger at his pre-match press conference.

"It's a bit premature maybe [for Van Persie to start the game] so I will see but he is in the squad. I haven't picked the team yet.

"When I pick a player it means he is fit and sharp and has worked very hard. Of course he lacks match-practice but physically he is ready, he is fit."

Does 7th place get the europa league spot now? considering Portsmouth is banned from europeon football due to being in administration and chelsea will finish in the top 4? Meaning everyone in contention for that champions league spot is now 100% certain they will finish high enough for the europa (which is better than not being in europe at all)?

well I think it will be anyway but I saw Pompey have asked for special dispensation to get into Europe.

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
