I'm hoping they'll release rain/snow as DLC...

So far the two most annoying things are

1. Dumb loading screens! I don't really care about seeing my "missions" or achievements every single time I start a race. I'm pretty sure it doesn't even take that whole time to load. It just likes to show you your status I guess.

2. "HAIRPIN TURN, LONG 60, SHORT, 40, JUST A SCRATCH, CREST...into, CREST..." The first time it did that, I kept on trying to deactivate the voice...

for those who cant get their gamepad working with Dirt2 (menu control), download the XBOX360 Controller Emulator & put the two files in game directory.

files: xinput1_3.dll, xbox360cemu.ini

download link : http://www.tocaedit.com/IB/index.php?autom...&showfile=4

Does that work for any type of game pad? I have a logitech Rumblepad 2 and not an xbox 360 controller.

I want to do a quick little survey here. How many agree with Victor Rambo that Dirt 1 is better than Dirt 2. I'm asking because, IMO, Dirt1 sucked.. it was a huge disappointment for me. If Dirt 2 is worse than Dirt 1 there's no way in hell I'm buying it. Victor Rambo, I respect your opinion on the game and this is no way an attack. post-190930-1260471300.gif

I liked dirt 1 more coz it wasn't repetitive and had more tracks/cars. Even it had rainy weather. Also menu system was ****ing awesome. :shifty: :p

i played dirt1 for 2-3hour max, i really didnt like it.

the control was too twitchy & the brakes were retarded.

dirt2 is a lot better compared to dirt1, but its repetitive. not many tracks & the AI audio is also repetitive.

i hope they release a patch to shorten the loading time, as i mentioned earlier, while loading, the HDD is active only for a mere 10seconds.

i timed the race & after race loading - its always 1min., for every single track.

yup, it'll work.

best thing about this game is it lets you re-map the controller to your preference :D

Now I understand. Those are some good reasons why Dirt 1 would be better. Thanks.

That's just sounds aggravating. Now I dont know. I've seen a lot of vids and have the demo and it looks like they used some of the same graphics technique they used for GRID. This doesn't happen often to me, but I may be going the graphics ho route on this one. Thanks.

This video just made up my mind, definitely going G - Ho on this one:

DiRT 2 is better than DiRT 1 in just about every way. It's been awhile since I played the latter so I don't remember the number of cars and tracks, but I did remember the weather effects and the cool-looking menus. Aside from those two things which DiRT 2 doesn't have, DiRT 1 is inferior (which makes sense). The graphics alone is a reason to play the game. The EGO game engine has come a long way since it was first introduced in 2007. Simply put, the game looks good, plays good, and runs good.

well loading times is long not because its loading the whole time.

its because of the stupid achievements and stats that show up..

they take all the time.

when i played the DEMO .. i was like they shold make the menu work faster.. but they didnt make is so fast..

I already got bored of the game, seems so many games these days focus on leaving out tons of content but then just spit-polishing what little they have left. So what they have is a decent game that works and perform excellent but have about as much content as Pacman.

I'm beginning to get bored of it. The game could use more cars and tracks. Perhaps as DLC?

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. GH1749 In the Master Password Setup window, "Show Master Password" is no longer truncated on some displays. GH1092, SF1595 Size and position of main window is now correctly restored on scaled displays. SF1630 Keep password expiry date when both password and password expiry are changed; don't clear a non-recurring expiry when the password's changed. SF1628 Custom values can now be copied to the clipboard in read-only mode via Ctrl-C and right-click->Copy Value. New features GH1196 Dark display mode support: Password Safe now supports the system display mode, as well as setting the mode directly via Manage->Options->Display->Display Mode. This change also updates the general "look & feel" of the app to the current Windows theme. Known limitations: The Date picker and keyboard shortcut controls do not switch to dark theme The Customize Toolbar dialog does not switch to dark theme Custom Field support has been added to the more advanced features: Filters XML and Text import and export Comparison, Sync and Merge databases SF938 Custom field values may now be selected by name and copied via a "Copy Custom Field Value..." submenu in the entry context popup menu. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
