Wow, almost 500 replies and I am just now seeing this.

Well it is probably best to stay out of here, since episode 1 of season 6 is months away :(

yeah stay away though anything remotely dodgy is spoiler tagged (Y)

Hopefully, this hasn't been posted before.

Damon Lindelof Is Still "Lost"

Lost is not yet done with the numbers.

...there are other sort of meta questions, like, what do the numbers mean, that we will be addressing more directly in the final season. But some people will feel like, 'Wow, they answered more than I thought they ever would about that question,' and some people will say 'What a hose job, I am so unsatisfied!' Our goal is to land in the middle of the 'hose jobers' and the 'too much informationers,' because you can't make everybody happy."

I am pleased to learn that they will atleast attempt to explain the numbers. I had almost given up on that and assumed it to be a red-herring.

Another interesting bit is this

.. I don't want you to tune in waiting for the Great American Libby story, because it's not coming."

First Lost final season promo to air Oct 29/09 (during the end of Flashforward).

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that the numbers will be back, but I'm curious with this promo that's going to air. The producers said that we wont be getting previews/promos of Season 6...

Yeah they said it wouldn't air

I think what they said was that, we won't be seeing any new footage. ABC will definitely be promoting the final season heavily. But they will have to recycle old scenes.

Booooring promo. No new footage :( and there won't be...

Question: I have a really fun assignment for you, Aus. Create a chart listing every Lost alum there ever was, and then next to their names, tell us where things stand in terms of them returning for the final season. I just know how much you love to make lists. ?Steven

Ausiello: I have a better idea: Let?s scrap the chart and forget we ever had this conversation. In return, I?ll share this Lost nugget with you: I hear Team Darlton will give us the answer to one of Lost?s oldest and most confounding mysteries. And I?m pretty sure it?s an answer none of us expected to get

During the explosive season finale of Lost last season, Elizabeth Mitchell's character, well, exploded. Or did she? After all, in the Lost universe, falling hundreds of feet down a massive well and then being mere inches away from a hydrogen bomb when it explodes could either mean the character got blown to smithereens or that they'll just wake up the next morning with a piercing headache and a severe urge to pop some Dharma-brand acetaminophen. Well, in the case of Juliet, executive producer Damon Lindelof confirms in this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly (not yet online) that the female half of Sawliet is, indeed, toast. "The decision to kill Juliet was absolutely brutal," he said, before adding that "[Carlton Cuse and I] have to really love you to give you a finale death." Don't shed too many tears for Juliet, though: As we told you back in June, Juliet is set to appear in "an unspecified number of episodes" during the sixth and final season of the show.

will give us the answer to one of Lost’s oldest and most confounding mysteries

Grr..that hardly tells us anything. We all know they are gonna give answers in the last season. He could have atleast been more specific about the mystery Darlton is planning on answeing. My guesses are:

Guys, where are we?

Or What/who is the smoke monster?

Or WTF is up with the numbers?

Now usually it is what is happening in the scenes that is important but this time it is WHO was spotted!

Here are some details:

1) Early in the week a scene in a Church Kitchen Sayid (Naveen Andrews) was spotted. Perhaps an Alt-Time Sayid during this off-island scene? Also spotted was a new character Lennon, but more importantly the return of Omar and Keamy!!

2) Today's filming including a scene at a high school with Ben (Michael Emerson), Tania Raymonde returning as Alex and Dr. Leslie Arzt (perhaps as a teacher)!!

Additionally a new character played by the recently cast William Atherton was on set where he play Principal Reynolds!!

Latest from TV Guide Magazine

Rebecca Mader, who was prematurely killed off Lost last season, has agreed to reprise her role of anthropologist Charlotte Lewis after completing a string of back-to-back films?including ?The Men Who Stare at Goats,? with George Clooney, and 2010?s ?Ceremony,? with Uma Thurman. ?I am beyond thrilled to be returning to Lost!? Mader e-mailed me. ?Being a part of this show has been one of the greatest moments in my career thus far. I?m excited to see everyone!? Everyone, I assume, includes that polar bear skeleton Charlotte discovered in the Tunisian desert. (Please, let her return finally explain how that creature got there!)

Jesus, so many characters returning now. We need a list!

^^

    • Limited time Prime Day deal cuts price of this Hisense 65" 4K smart TV in half by Ivan Jenic It’s Amazon Prime Day, and brands are offering great deals to consumers. One of the best deals of the day is definitely this Hisense 65" U7, which is currently $799.99 on Amazon, down from $1,499.99. That's nearly 50% off and $700 saved on this feature-packed 4K TV (purchase link down below). The U7 uses Mini-LED backlighting with up to 3,000 local dimming zones and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. That means blacks are truly deep and highlights are punchy enough to hold up even in bright rooms. The screen is covered with a dual-layer anti-reflection coating, which prevents the afternoon overhead lights from washing the picture. For gaming, the native 165Hz refresh rate and VRR 330 support make this one a great TV option for PS5 and Xbox Series X. The TV even features a native game mode, which should help minimize the input lag for a better gaming experience. Audio is handled by a 2.1.2 channel system tuned by Devialet, which is a notable partnership for a TV at this price. Additionally, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, and IMAX Enhanced are all supported. It runs Fire TV with Alexa+ built in. So, if you’re looking for a sharp, large screen to watch the World Cup on, the U7 at this price is definitely an attractive option. Speaking of which, Hisense is the official sponsor of the World Cup, which should mean absolutely nothing to you, and isn’t the reason why you should by this TV. The reason why you should buy it is that it’s “la bella televisione, HDTV-compatible, beautiful,” and available at half the price. • Re: Capitalism. It's just 1 of dozens of economic models currently-adopted worldwide; most national models separate money from politics thereby limiting the influence wealth carries over the economy (due to limited tentacles wealth politics has over the broader economy). The "American model" of unfettered financial influence should NOT be the variant of pure capitalism adopted worldwide. More regulations formulated within this variant is effectively useless due to the misalignment between regulatory objectives and fundamental influence wealth politics carry over the market. Re: enough money. Without constraining the breadth/depth/scope/scale that any measure of money/wealth can have within a market, there will always inherently be those who have "enough money" and those who do not. Those without "enough money" will always lose -- regardless if a bedroom DJ, indie developer, or million-dollar corporation going against a billion-dollar mega-corporation. The evil is the absence of guardrails against the influence of wealth; not the mere existence of wealth. Re: dragged through the courts. The liberalist nature of litigation does not exclude anyone, anywhere, for any reason for getting dragged through the courts. Rather than formalize remediation pathways for various perceived ills, everything is left up to flawed interpretations... and this is where a litigation-averse community fails to thrive (thus a losing proposition when dragged to courts). Everyone should have more protections and clear remediation strategies! Going to an alternate remediation arbitration is OK so long as the case review and remediation processes are clear and transparent. For corporations, hit them where it hurts: automatic financial penalties. (PS: This is where corporate risk management strategies would do well to behave more ethically.) Overall, failure to truly shake-up the incentive core and regulatory extremities of the economic market will necessarily mean that all other actions are simply applying lipstick on a pig. Change begins from the inside. Is the root cause of the problem that a majority of consumers within a market goes for Option Brand-name versus Option Indie? Or that brand-name is spending foreign money to control domestic markets? Or that money is the objective measure for success across all walks of life? Or that deep pockets dictate the moral and ethical rights/wrongs of entire societies? Regardless of the answer (and there's nothing inherently wrong with being a socialist or communist or whatever label your surroundings deem 'cool' or 'uncool') there's a common thread: If a market truly wants to nurture domestic innovation, then performative finger-wagging will do nothing to that end.
