James Cameron's Avatar in 3D

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one that thinks that this movie doesn't look good? And if the leaked plot is right, that doesn't make it look any better.

It looks all right. I think a movie about 9 foot blue creatures is going to put some people off, however. It's not going to look real enough for them.

yeah but what can they base it against :p nothing is blue and that big irl :p

I'm really letdown with the CGI... I mean, it's not bad by any means, but I was expecting it to be as revolutionary as the supposed 3D elements are going to be.

Still really looking forward to this simply because of Cameron. I think it will be a slight flop in that it won't get nearly as much money as they think it will, however. Most of my friends aren't even remotely interested in it.

And an early review from someone who's seen the film says its plot is almost non-existent, but it's like the biggest first-person shooter ever. And:

What we have is: Boy meets alien through marines, boy loses aliens and marines, boy fights marines and gets girl. And I was also told that despite all the trappings of special effects, blue people and CGI skies, Sigourney Weaver still manages to register strongly with warmth and a commanding presence.

I am sure we all know what happens but just incase more peeps complain :p

That's because Sigourney Weaver freaking owns. She's mine along with that certain fit Welsh girl and, oh forget it I forget everyone else now...

*Spoiler Alert*

Arrggghhh, put up a *spoiler alert* next time, I didn't want to knowwwww lol. The game itself was crap, just played the demo though but I didn't like it. Was a highly hyped up game too. I'm sure the movie will be an enjoyable experience.

Mhmm, so, after all thigs are showing good - so far Avatar seems to be getting some quite positive word of mouth from people whove seen it. Including some I personally trust. If not the story then just visually its just astonishing to say the least.

    • All versions is correct. The bug appears on any version of Windows with KB5094126 installed. It's a little insane to expect the author to explain that systems that can't possibly have that patch installed, will not experience the bug. If you have any gripe about the title, it would be that it doesn't mention the update at all, but I wouldn't agree with that either. A title is not expected to be a full summery of the article.
    • (Can't see if he's still wearing the clompy clown shoes though)
    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
