James Cameron's Avatar in 3D

Recommended Posts

:p To ALL the Judgemental (And Wrong) people and doubters LOOK at the reviews are STELLAR AS HELL!!!

I'm really letdown with the CGI... I mean, it's not bad by any means, but I was expecting it to be as revolutionary as the supposed 3D elements are going to be.

Still really looking forward to this simply because of Cameron. I think it will be a slight flop in that it won't get nearly as much money as they think it will, however. Most of my friends aren't even remotely interested in it.

The fact there are no early reviews of this before release worries me seriously, this could be one hell of a christmas turkey.
And an early review from someone who's seen the film says its plot is almost non-existent, but it's like the biggest first-person shooter ever. And:

What we have is: Boy meets alien through marines, boy loses aliens and marines, boy fights marines and gets girl. And I was also told that despite all the trappings of special effects, blue people and CGI skies, Sigourney Weaver still manages to register strongly with warmth and a commanding presence.

I am sure we all know what happens but just incase more peeps complain :p

More CG? :x
So.. guys.

Just out of curiosity..

What happens if this is a three hour long bomb?

The same thing as a 1.5 hour long bomb except twice as much.
Am I the only one that thinks that this movie doesn't look good? And if the leaked plot is right, that doesn't make it look any better.
Meh. Doesn't really look that impressive - atleast not to the level its been hyped up to be.

I was reading several reviews and most of the reviewers seem to have gone into the theater wanting to hate it, but they all came out gushing about it. Even those who felt the plot was thin had a lot of other nice things to say about it.

thats hillarious :D

Im still crying :D Seriously - that was hilarious :D

But on a more serious note - highly recommend interview with Cameron about Avatar and.. *khem* some of the 14 years in making :D Also explains the revolutionary part, which i have to agree is quite groundbreaking from what hes saying.

I sure hope then whenever dvd and bluray comes out thers ****loads of extras, as i could listen to him for hours.

Looks like another mediocre film from a director who didn't know when to quit while he was ahead. I predict you'll see 'Avatar' action figures overflowing in the clearance bins of stores by february.

When have you actually seen sole movie successfully launching a toy series that actually has legs to withstand the test of time? I maybe a bit out of the age when toys were interesting, but seriously now. No movie alone unless its made based on some franchise with huge legacy like the ones from Marvel, DC or Hasbro can make it. Well, unless its those sideshow collectibles $$$ busts.

I have no idea how the public will respond to this film. I don't think anyone does.

Because that's the best he can do, apparently. He almost behaves like a crazy Mac fanatic.

Really, I think people are just too sad & judgemental!!! That's the Problem with humanity! I will NEVER go out and judge some **** I don't know enough about yet I see people do it all the time like they are expert. *SIGH*

"OMG this movie looks like a Video game!!!"

Yeah have you ever in your life even played a Video game?

"OMG CGI MUST equal SUCK! NO Plot and Bad Acting I am sure!!!"

So you think Terminator 2 sucked? Or Lord Of The rings?

Yeah, you must really have POOR taste in movies, then.

There are ALWAYS people doubting, or judge movies like this... Senselessly!

Thank GOD these critics are very positive about this movie!!!

And movie is grabbing awards already!!!

Some people need LEARN they shouldn't be so judgemental and really know what you are talking about.

Like, there are NO video games gameplay graphics quality comparable to CGI of these movies, period. So, saying that it looks like a Video Game complete make you look stupid from all the gamers who actually has PLAYED games!!!

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
