James Cameron's Avatar in 3D

This film just goes on. I watched the 3D version but like other 3D films it lets down badly. The plot was okay and it was a decent film, but it certainly wasn't anything special let alone anything as good as it was hyped up to be. Recommend to watch the 2D version only.

I don't mean to sound like some people here, BUT WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT? I mean, other than probable eye problems, that might stand in way of full experience.

7 out of 10. Predictable story, but could've been far worse. Graphics were unbelievable. You couldn't tell you were looking at CG humans, and it didn't feel like it was over two and a half hours. I definitely recommend seeing it on the big screen, and if possible, 3D. Seeing it on anything else doesn't it do it justice visually.

I typically would not comment or add my opinion or review of any movie, however after seeing this in IMAX 3D on Friday evening I feel compelled to add to the hype of just how good this movie is.

To be almost immediately pulled INTO the movie from the initial first few minutes enough to make me forget the turmoil of day to day living, bills, work, etc, etc and not let me come back down to reality until the credits started rolling was a quite amazing.

Typically you watch a movie and lot of times things happen that you either relate to in real life or it makes you think about something similar in your life.... this movie did none of that, it draws you in and gives you front row seats as everything unfolds. I was literally consumed by what was happening in the movie to even think about anything else other than what was happening.

The storyline was very good and though not so unpredictable at moments, it was how those predictable moments were played out and the detail of how it was done.

This movie was over the top and in one word.. in my own opinion - STUNNING

I will pay to see it again and will even say that this is by far probably the BEST movie I have ever seen. That is a far fetch but I stand by it.

Go see it and you wont be dissapointed even if you think you wont like it. It is quite simply just that good

Jedi, as much as I agree with you about this movie... you need to let people say what they want. That's why this forum is here, and it's best not to get worked up over them saying things you disagree with.

I've seen this twice already and I will likely finally be seeing it in IMAX this week. I can't wait :D

Cheaper?

Well, yes. But then again its like going to Disneyland just to have few cones of ice-cream and a drink. Price difference shouldn't be that big to keep you away from 3d version of movie that has been built as one from ground up.

Just saw it tonight, have to say its the best film I have seen all year, even tops Transformers and Star Trek for me! 3D was epic :D

I am sorry don't judge when you don't know what you are talking about, but I DO really think Avatar is MUCH BETTER in terms Quality than Transformers and Heroes are!!!

I Love Transformers for the fact that it's very action packed and FX with the Transformers are really Cool, but nothing about the Drama is anywhere close to this Avatar movie!

Drama, acting, plot, suspense is certainly WAY better here in Avatar than Transformers!

So, of course I am NOT putting Avatar and Transformers in the same boat that's just NOT true!

And Heroes, I also never said that was a masterpiece either. In fact, I always believed LOST is better... so both judgements are WRONG!!!

I never compared Avatar to Transformers or Heroes. I was saying that you go overboard everytime there is a hyped movie or show out. You completely freak out dude. lol Calm down as other people have said.

We all know Transformers movie has much less plots.

It's a movie based on Toys.. I mean, how deep could the plot be?

Transformers did EXACTLY what it's suposed to do. Have Great FX and Action, aided by 'Decent' (NOT Great, NOT Oscar-worthy, NOT Mortal Kombat 2 like either) acting.

No one sane is going to say it's a great movie in terms of being Oscar-worthy like this movie IS.

And, GOD I just can't stop thinking about Avatar!!! The NEW Star Wars for me indeed! :o

Yeah, but I am REALLY happy females are loving it! :D

    • If they ever come out and say the AI is no longer accessible to the gen pop people aren't going to know how to tie their own shoelaces.
    • It's hard not to when they are shoehorning Ai into EVERYTHING. Some are active users by choice, I bet a lot of them are because it's shoved in their face the entire time.

    • Nearly half of American adults now use AI, but concerns are also growing by Hamid Ganji Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, the way people research, get their news, and perform routine tasks has changed dramatically. Now, almost everything around us has a touch of AI, and companies are trying to embed it into nearly every product and service they offer. With that in mind, new research shows how Americans are actually adopting this change and using AI in their everyday lives. According to new research conducted by the Pew Research Center, 49% of American adults now use AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini. This marks a significant increase over last year, when only 33% of American adults reported using AI. Additionally, four in ten U.S. adults (42%) said they use AI tools to research information, while 38% said they use these tools to handle tasks at work. Entertainment, image and video editing, and getting medical advice are among the other ways Americans are using AI. Moreover, ChatGPT dominates the U.S. AI market, with 44% of respondents saying they use OpenAI's chatbot. Gemini follows at 24%, while Copilot and Meta AI account for 17% and 14%, respectively. Respondents also said that AI chatbots generally have a positive impact on their productivity and how informed they are. But when it comes to AI’s impact on society, Americans remain largely skeptical. About 40% of American adults believe AI will be more harmful than beneficial to society over the next 20 years. Additionally, 31% expect AI to have a negative effect on them personally. Another 31% of respondents say AI could be equally positive and negative. As for data security, pessimism remains high: 71% of respondents say AI will make their personal information less secure, while only 3% believe it will make their data more secure. American adults also largely lack confidence in both the government and AI companies when it comes to regulating and developing AI. About 67% of Americans have little to no confidence in the U.S. government’s ability to regulate AI effectively. Six in ten adults are also not confident that U.S. companies will develop and use these tools responsibly.
