Opera Continues to differ with Microsoft

Recommended Posts

and lets not forget that opera was adware supported until recently.

Three years ago is quite a bit of time...

an article in PC Pro said as the end paragraph made me laugh

Or... they can spell Opera backwards. The browser shall be named "A Repo!"

So basically Opera won't be happy until every single reference to Internet Explorer has been complete removed from Windows and only their browser is offered?

After that they'd want all webmail sites(Hotmail etc.) blocked out of the box because otherwise no one will use their bundled email client.

:x

They will always find something to whine about...

Do the users from EU have any say in this matter. I think EU needs E edition because these guys are never happy. Or maybe Microsoft can ship Windows 7 core edition for the EU just like they did it with Windows server. Oh wait... someone probably wants their kernel to be shipped with Windows because Microsoft is a monopoly and they have a large market share. Good luck to my EU friends.

Overall, however, Lie said last week that Opera was pleased with the proposal. So it looks this is more likely to be a negotiating point than a roadblock. The European Commission said last week that it welcomed the Microsoft proposal, promising to "investigate its practical effectiveness in terms of ensuring genuine consumer choice."

looks like lot of people missed this. now that there is ballot opera should just move on imo

I'm surprised no one has posted the following in this thread yet:

Opera are on the best way to lose all credibility they had. What's next - suing MS because they dare call the Windows file manager explorer.exe?

I agree with Opera, I have talk to a few people who isn't "geekly" and I know when they see IE or the IE's logo they don't think its a browser, they think it is the internet and because they think it's the internet they don't going looking for other options.

Remember this isn't just Opera, all other browsers including Google and Mozilla has join this as well, so for all you guys who are boycotting Opera, you should be boycotting Google and Mozilla as well.

So why don't you guys think about this first, before you fanboys go off and defend your company Microsoft.
