Daemon tools to work with windows 7

Daemon Tools Lite has worked with Windows 7 for months now.

you could use this as well. This is what I used to use during the Windows 7 Beta, until DT supported Windows 7.

... You do know Daemon Tools was updated ages ago to support Windows 7 "Out of the box" without any tweaks?

Also, daemon tools has become trash, filled with crap. Virtual CloneDrive is so much better and works under W7 as well.

Just so people know, Daemon tools currently DOES NOT work with the RTM. Yes, it worked with the RC, but the RTM is a different matter.

I'm using the lite version with the RTM and it works perfectly. No workarounds were needed to install/use it.

You may need to install a newer version of the SPTD driver before installing the current DT.

I'm kinda glad that DT was incompatible earlier on with Win7 as it forced me to consider better alternatives such as CloneDrive.

I was having issues and I checked the DT forums, where a lot of people were also having issues. did anyone have to do anything special to get it to work?

cropcircles, I notice that your signature states that you're running the RC, NOT the RTM. It worked fine in the RC for me, not the RTM though.

DT lite, latest version, works perfectly here.Win 7 has complained about incompatibility, but i installed DT anyway and no problems here.

Well I'm not the only one having issues. When it didn't work, I went onto the official forum and seen that the OFFICIAL response was "A new version with full Windows 7 support will be released shortly" and figured that it must have been a problem. A housemate of mine has the exact same issue, so forgive me for perhaps indicating that it has issues when, in fact, it clearly does :rolleyes:.

It doesn't work for me (and at least 2 other people), so how am I wrong saying that it doesn't work? That makes you wrong. And you shouldn't bold things when you're wrong. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Keyword being figured. After 3 people came in saying it supported it at the very top and the OP retracted his statement. I am not wrong that it works, you however are wrong. If it works for some people, then clearly it IS working. You didn't indicate it has issues, you flat out said it doesn't work.

+1 Power ISO's image drive works, but I don't think they use the SPTD SCSI passthrough driver that is used in Daemon tools, which is what actually causes the compatibility issues

As already said, Daemon Tools Lite has worked for some time in Windows 7. Daemon Tools Pro also works fine too :)

Get over yourself, I was pointing out your own arrogance. You're saying I'm flat out wrong because it works for you, but equally I could say that you're flat out wrong because it DOESN'T work for me and several others. Clearly, there IS a problem somewhere, with something. Who knows what it is, but it certainly doesn't work the way it should.
