Decided to give the PC Demo a shot and whoa, I have no idea where the fascination from this game stems from - Feels like a repetitive beat 'em up based around a popular universe. So yeah if you're looking for a batman fix it might be alright but for anything else I have no idea where all the praise comes from.

Cool. I guess I'll be buying my copy from there.

I'd say it's a cool game for Batman fans and non-fans alike. The free flow combat and detective modes are quite interesting. And the graphics aren't too shabby. It's the kind of game I'd buy for $39.

Just watched the Gametrailers HD FLV Video Review and they give it a 9.

Very good news indeed as I tend to agree with their video reviews way more often than not.

Hopefully I am done with Shadow Complex by Tuesday, if not I want to beat it first before jumping into a new game.

Part of me feels like they just took the things that made Bioshock and Riddick successful and repackaged it (like the interview tapes), but at the same time they've put a hell of a lot of effort into it, so it's worthy of standing on it's own feet.

Really is a great game though, and the fights never get boring for me, especially the final takedowns. I'm pretty certain in one of the fights I played tonight Batman kicked the last guy in the nuts to finish him off  Win (Y)

Also those in Canada who don't know, EB Games is also matching Walmart's price which is $38.89 on pre-orders only. They are also bumping up any TIV by 20% when you preorder Batman specifically.

For BB purchasers also get a free strategy guide.

Note: Free strategy guide only available in-store, therefore not available via online orders

Collector's Edition sells for its reg. price.

Yeah I'm not big on EB Games but I have like $80 on my edge card and I traded in Ninja Gaiden for like $15 with the bump up value and put it towards Batman. They gave me the most $$ for that game - it was going for like $10 even on Kijiji and Craiglist. Unless I royally messed up, but I really thought people would be willing to pay $30 for that game (privately).

As I mentioned in my previous postings - PC won't die completely - it'll always be around but the quantity and quality of games available for PC has dropped a lot since the early 2000s. Also, just as this game released for PC will include something "more", there are others that will feature "less" e.g. Ghostbusters.

As for MS pushing DX forward, sure that's true - but also note they don't seem to be pushing the "Games for Windows" that hard and more importantly, their strategy and focus on this is almost non-existent compared to everything else they push e.g. 360, Windows Live (e.g. Messenger, Hotmail etc). Have you seen an increase in PC games because of this? Sure MS can push DX forward, because it's also used in the XBox and you cannot push Gaming on Windows hard if you are pushing Gaming on your console too because you are going to sap revenue from one of your lines. Customers are not going to buy a game for their 360 and then turn around and buy the exact same game for Windows. So if you are MS and you are talking about gaming, are you goin to push gaming for PC harder or gaming for XBOX more? We all know which one MS is pushing gamers towards.

If you are a PC gamer - are you going to say that the quantity and quality of games are in general better for the PC or consoles? Better now or before? Are games now more focused on producing for consoles FIRST or PCs?

Its getting slightly less popular but its certainly not "dying" you are using the wrong word

Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely be buying it at Best Buy because their sale goes on for 3 days from August 25th to August 27th. Futureshop is also having the same sale, minus the free strategy guide.

Meh, the combat is sub par. It's a decent game. If you like superheros and/or Batman, then you should consider spending $39 for 6-7 hours of gameplay. $6/hr for Batman entertainment.

The combat feels pretty solid to me. Hand to hand combat isn't easy to make entertaining in games anymore but the animations and everything is just so fluid in this game. Timing a ton of critical strikes together feels quite satisfying too.

Or I dunno, maybe it's cause I was playing Prototype before this where the combat just feels really clunky.

If anyone is complaining about the combat based on demo experience only, there are more elements to the game, platforming/puzzles, more difficult combat.. the demo was set to easy mode and only gave you a couple of rooms to fight in.

There are no icons over enemy heads to tell you what's coming on hard mode.

lol $30 isn't bad.. especially if it retails for $69.99.

    • Can you still click his nose in the about box?
    • In that case this product has no value to me. I'd rather use older Creative SB that were better in my opinion or onboard audio chip.
