[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Glad to see other people getting it. I was like there's no way the game has sold 6 million copies and counting and so far and EVERYONE is level 25+

Heck there's always level 1~9 characters in games, even months later.

It's pretty poor IMO, not that beginner friendly. I mean it does try to balance in that I had like a level 30+ player, and two high teens, where as the other team were in like the low/mid 20's. However me at level 1 trying to combat level 20's with better weapons/perks ect is rather unfair.

Man up, son! MW1 was the same thing with dedicated servers on the PC, you play against EVERYONE. It only makes you better.

Played 3-4 hours MP yesterday and reached level 21

You dont unlock the hardcore modes until level 19 which is what I was aiming for

My god wtf have they done to this game? They certainly made more suitable for tacticool kids

Silencers on high caliber sniper rifles, light machine guns and ****in shotguns WTF!?

I enjoy the game very much but that is the dumbest **** I have ever seen

This is the average gun in MW2:

shotgun

wish the silncers on the shotgun was bigger though. it is much to small

because they are not paying attention? no one is looking there way

Are you sure? Look again.

I am pretty sure they would be able to see them before they started to fire. Also, how do you get into an airport with those big ass weapons without being seen by people and/or security and/or security cameras?

they are not looking that way... you dont see things like that when you think you are in a safe environment.

I don't think so. They can EASILY see them with the corner of their eyes.

They see them with the guns here and yet they still just look.

Its possible the people assumed they were security? The second they raise the guns everyone starts looking over at them and freaking out, before a shot is even fired.

I mean seriously, if you saw a few people in tactical vests with machine guns standing around calmly in an airport, what would your first thought be, security or terrorists?

Terrorists. Secuity would be wearing the same things as each other, not random suits with tactical vests on like those guys. Secuirty would have the word Security on their vests or NSA, SWAT, CIA, FBI, TSA, etc.

I think in that situation, people would give the benefit of the doubt or be in complete denial that they're about to die. It's the "that can't be real, this isn't happening" or "maybe if I don't make any sudden movements they won't shoot me" mentality. It's easy to analyze the situation behind your desk, but I think placed in it I'd probably **** my pants before I could run away.

Anyone else find that airport level kind of ****ed up? I mean, I'm not against them putting it into MW2 and they definitely warn the player about it... but it felt weird mowing down innocent civilians with a machine gun.

Weird or liberating?

The entire purpose of the airport level is to show just how extreme your opponents are and the lengths they are willing to go through to achieve their goal. You being undercover trying to infiltrate the organization are essentially going through an initiation to be trusted.

You end up getting killed in the end when it becomes apparent that Makarov was just using you and knew you were an informant anyway.

The entire level is meant to show just how extreme the terrorists are. You have multiple screens when starting the game to decide whether you want to play that level or not. You are warned ahead of time. Even as the level starts you can tell wt is going to happen before it begins, you easily can stop playing and go into the options to change the setting and skip the level. It is in no way required to be played, there are no achievements that require you play that particular level.

While I understand that is the purpose of the level, it still serves no purpose as the overall story is really not all that good and not really a story as much as it is a bunch of cool levels that they tried to make a story out of after the fact they designed the levels.

I already posted a link in this thread somewhere with a video with IW themselves outright admitting this fact (piecing the story to the levels), so while some may like the story, it is in my humble opinion poor, so to put something like this level to enhance the story is nothing but a bunch of BS to me.

They originally made this level cause they liked the idea of doing an Airport. Then they loved the idea of creating a level they knew would get people talking even more about the largest selling game of the year. I see zero artistic merit in this choice, but again that is just my opinion.

With that said, I played the game, enjoyed the hell out of playing the game, but my experience would not have been any better or any worse one way or the other if this level never existed. Actually scratch that, my experience very well may have been a bit more positive as I am here right now saying I think the level was done in poor taste.

I some how doubt a single one of those would be on there vest

considering your in Russia in that mission. we also have no idea what is going on in the country at that time. so we do not know how they would react to seeing someone with a gun in the airport. after all the security was carrying TMP's.

but the storys for MW2 is starting to **** me off

[spoliers] I am sick of the main characters always dying off. I mean sure its fine to have some of them die. but it would have been cool to keep playing as the CIA agent.[/spolier]

I am glad they did the airport. its about time some devs grew a pair

Are you guys trying to get to the bottom of this massacre of AI civilians?

Damn I still need to pick up this game, it's sucks when I see nearly everyone on my PSN list is playing it.

decent slowed down comparison video over @ EuroGamer.

It's an 360/ps3 comparison btw, cause everyone knows pc>all :D

o.O surely this has gotta be one of the first games where PS3 looks alot smoother and nicer than 360?

I played the Airport level and to be honest its not a big deal. Your put in the position and you have to do what you have to do.

Exactly. The media etc are portraying it as "You are a real terrorist" Not paying any attention to any other part of the story. Besides. They are pixels.

    • A different thing with Russia. When you say is it better, depends on things. It is better that we don't have the E.U making rules and laws that have nothing to do with them. Is the trading part better? No, that is really mucked up, but then we knew that was going to happen and we would have make agreements, like we do with other parts of the world. Freedom of movement is certainly better, but could be improved, we still need more control over our borders. do you live in the U.K?
    • So what am I quoting from them? I never listened to what Farage or his cronies said. I wanted the U.K to leave the E.u years before the referendum and it had nothing to do with Farage and his cronies. So what country do you live in? Did we work much better together? We were always at logger heads with the E.U because we disagreed with them so much. Maggie was always on at them. I would have thought the E.U was glad to get rid of us as we stopped the integration or made it a two tier. Now without us they can integrate more. I would not have voted out if it was just a trading block and we can still work together on somethings.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
