[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Well to be fair he only really reviews SP, and SP is pretty ****. Especially with how powerful some of the SP games have been this year.

Is it me or are people already getting bored of this game? Most of my friends list have gone back to other games and I'm not playing it that much.

It's called burnout. :p

Only been a few weeks now but it feels like I've got my mouse shooter skills back I use to have back when I played CS:S. Can't put this down now. :( :p

I personally have not played it since last week, actually I think since I posted my little tirade about how I hated it in this thread somewhere.

Honestly I only plan on playing it again simply for the fact of being social and I can play it with some friends online, and also my cousin I saw was online with it today so he must have just picked it up, so if not for the fact my friends I tend to play with online were still playing it I would be perfectly content just playing Assassins Creed 2. I just do not find all that much fun in playing it.

Just watched it, and was a great reminder of why I have loved Yahtzee pretty much since Day 1. I thing in regards to the SP he is spot on. 110%

Why is there always these kind of remarks towards anyone who owns a console. It gets a bit tiring.

You're ignorant, you spout off like Live/PSN is the best service ever produced and you've forced paid DLC on to PC owners. I have nothing for contempt for your average console owner. Note: I'm not directing this bile at you, it's directed to console owners in general, I know some have a clue, but that's few and far between.

Just throwing this out there, me and fellow member habnad are going to be playing on Live in right around 50 minutes @ 10PM Eastern Standard Time US.

I am thinking it is the night before a holiday, so let's just play to have fun and the more the merrier since fun is the ultimate goal.

I am not gonna bother out sending invites as I feel it is annoying, so just feel free to either respond here saying you are down to play and/or feel free to send me a message on Live saying to invite you and/or just join our party if you can.

It may just wind up being me and him, but chances are pretty good there is also going to be some of our friends playing like my cousin and his two friends as well, we will probably already have anywhere from 3 to 5 people total.

So depending on the count if people on here also joing, we may have to do stick to the larger based game modes like Ground War. But if it is a smaller group of people, as far as game modes we are pretty open to whatever. We do everything from TDM to Domination to CTF and not sure what the plan of attack is tonight.

This!

Ignorant? I am sure most console users wouldn't know what "host advantage" is. But they're not in denial.

I don't know of anyone who has spouted off that Live/PSN is the best service ever. And I don't know why your dumping the blame of paid DLC on PC onto console owners.

And "contempt for the average console owner"? That's a bit pathetic really...

Host advantage is a bit annoying, i definately do notice it at times, especially when you're playing a clan who are sharing a connection, as they all have full green bars, while everyone else has orange, they win quite easily but as soon as the host changes they're suddenly not as good

Im really gettin into spec ops at the mo, think its wot makes the game worth it in my eyes, was playing with a mate last night on vetran and they're challenging but not impossible, and quite fun knowing you've got someone covering your back, get quite into it lol

do you even have one good reason why the cheapest version should get extra content free (being a whining **** doesn't count btw)? not supporting ****ty, overpriced dlc btw just that if one platform gets it free all should or if one pays then all should

*sigh*

so i guess you dont have a good reason then

besides on pc if you dont want to pay for the dlc just pirate it, from what i have read there are cracks to play on steam servers  so dlc will end up getting released by scene groups as well

We never paid for it before? It builds brand loyalty? I use to get more maps for free from UT Vanilla than you get in a map pack from Activision?

Yeah awesome excuse, pirate it. Real mature.

    • NASA: This asteroid may not kill us but it probably won't be far off either by Sayan Sen Image by Zelch Csaba via Pexels New observations by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope have eliminated the last remaining impact threat posed by asteroid 2024 YR4, ruling out the possibility that the near-Earth object could strike the Moon in December 2032. NASA said observations collected by Webb on February 18 and 26, 2026, enabled scientists to refine the asteroid's orbit enough to "rule out a chance of lunar impact on Dec. 22, 2032." Instead, asteroid 2024 YR4 is now expected to pass the Moon at a distance of about 13,200 miles (21,200 km). The agency stressed that the update "reflects improved precision in our understanding of where the asteroid is expected to be in 2032 rather than a shift in its orbital path." The announcement closes a remarkable chapter in planetary defence that began in late 2024, when the approximately 60-metre-wide asteroid briefly became the most closely watched near-Earth object in the world. Discovered on December 27, 2024, by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, 2024 YR4 initially appeared to have a small chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. As astronomers gathered more observations, the impact probability briefly climbed to around 3%—the highest ever recorded for an asteroid of its size—before steadily falling as its orbit became better understood. By early 2025, international observations had ruled out any significant risk to Earth. However, astronomers were left with another possibility: a roughly 4% chance that the asteroid could instead strike the Moon. "The probability that asteroid 2024 YR4 will strike the Moon on 22 December 2032 is now approximately 4%," the European Space Agency (ESA) had said last year, noting that "there is a 96% chance that the asteroid will not impact the Moon." ESA said such an impact, while unlikely, would have presented an extraordinary scientific opportunity. "It is a very rare event for an asteroid this large to impact the Moon – and it is rarer still that we know about it in advance. The impact would likely be visible from Earth, and so scientists will be very excited by the prospect of observing and analysing it," said Richard Moissl, Head of ESA's Planetary Defence Office. "It would certainly leave a new crater on the surface. However, we wouldn't be able to accurately predict in advance how much material would be thrown into space, or whether any would reach Earth," he added. The asteroid also exposed an important blind spot in planetary defence. Because 2024 YR4 approached Earth from the direction of the Sun, it remained hidden from ground-based telescopes until after its closest approach. "We looked into how Neomir would have performed in this situation, and the simulations surprised even us," Moissl said. "Neomir would have detected asteroid 2024 YR4 about a month earlier than ground-based telescopes did. This would have given astronomers more time to study the asteroid's trajectory and allowed them to much sooner rule out any chance of Earth impact in 2032." He added, "As an infrared telescope, like Webb, Neomir would have also immediately given us a much better estimate for the asteroid's size, which is very important for assessing the significance of the hazard." The latest NASA observations underscore the value of space-based infrared telescopes in tracking faint asteroids. According to NASA, Webb made "among the faintest ever observations of an asteroid," extending the object's observational record by nearly eight months at a time when it had become too faint for other telescopes. That additional data allowed scientists to eliminate the remaining uncertainty surrounding its 2032 flyby. Although asteroid 2024 YR4 is now confirmed to pose no threat to either Earth or the Moon, scientists say its discovery remains one of the most significant real-world tests of the international planetary defence system, demonstrating how continued observations can rapidly transform an object once considered hazardous into one whose future path is known with high confidence. • Yup. Google is just scraping the entire internet for their own ad profits without sharing revenue with the sources. It's obviously stealing, but since these sites depend upon Google's search scraps to survive... As for me, I just stopped using Google for anything except Reddit searches. If Reddit's own search wasn't complete crapola, I'd never use Google search again.
    • I had a feeling this was coming. Picked up my first Mac ever last Saturday. Glad I did.
    • In a major surprise there is actually some good deals for the first time in years. At least for me.
