[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Finally got to level 70 and got to try out the AK. While deadly when you actually hit them because it does so much damage, the recoil is horrendous. They have definitely increased the recoil quite a bit from COD4. I ended up going through prestige because with the AK so nerfed, there is really no reason to stay at level 70.

Really? From what I've seen it's pretty much the weakest SMG.

High RoF, very accurate and can empty a clip in under 5 seconds! I'm taking it more often than my ACR now! :(

Edit: The only weapons I use to come top of TDM and 1v1's is the Vector and the ACR. Both lol accurate. :)

Isn't teamwork awesome!

Edit: Admittedly we did try to shoot explosive barrels through cover then got rather annoyed when it wouldn't work. I guess I should have spent more time reading than shooting ;D

Edit 2: Just got 30-8 on FFA using the Vector. Safe to say it's rather a good weapon in the right hands. :D

My personal best in MW2 for PC and no hacks of any kind as I despise the fact they exist killing all the fun. Interestingly enough people didn't accuse me of cheating either. It was a great game. Predator Missile + Harrier + Pave Low.. along with Hardline perk = WIN :) Forget about Nuke... this is where the fun is! :)

Yep. In my opinion, its not worth it.

Well depends.. each prestige run gives you an additional slot for loadouts.. so I prestiged to get the 5th slot so I can add another loadout when I play so I can switch to quickly. For some people this is not worth it but you can expand up to 3 extra slots and then you have a wider variety of combos for your play.

Had to go to YouTube and look up the Javelin glitch. Wow, that really is stupid and hope they patch it ASAP on the 360, but I have luckily never encountered it.

So we did play a bit before, I had the worse consecutive rounds I think I probably ever had. Just did outright awful. Meh is all I can say at this point. That and I cannot wait for Bad Company 2.

I hate MW2 players who use akimbo shotguns or 1887s, no skill involved just run round the corner and unload in the enemies general direction, if they have an assault rifle theres jack **** they can do about it, really ****es me off.

Right there with you.

MW2 just misses out on a whole different fight when you don't have vehicles. BF FTW

There's many aspects to this game that completely removes the skill aspect and those shotguns are certainly one of them. Oddly enough, I rarely ever get killed by 'em but my team-mates usually does and watching it in kill-cam does make you want to facepalm hard. Honestly though, my biggest 'weapon' gripe is the Riot Shield - That thing is so overpowered it's not even funny, especially when you encounter a person who knows how to use it and you ran out of grenades. A see-through piece of plastic that can take an infinite amount of bullets, cover the entire body when crouching and you can shield-bash causing one-hit kills? G.T.F.O

They should really add a hit limit and then let the shield break or turn it into a massive titanium motherf ... with a tiny window you can see through, limiting your view immensely - At least that would make it a bit more fair. Luckily it's rarely used in the matches I join but when someone finally uses the thing, it can just ruin your day  I swear, every time someone uses that shield and they kill someone, the person who dies is usually very vocal about the overpowered nature of the shield :p

It takes 2 hits and as you take more damage your view gets more and more obstructed to the point where you can't see. :)

Let's just add this again, as it was removed; you know I play Hardcore and in Hardcore mode, it only takes one hit plus a slightly obstructed view doesn't kill you - Still lets you run towards your opponent and just give them a quick bash. In hardcore mode on the 360, where you can't just just do a 720 spin in a second and hit a guy in the face 5 miles away with a pistol ( PC version (N) ), it's hard to gain the advantage 1 v 1 versus a shield because when you finally see an exposed area it's not for long and then it shifts to other parts of the body, making it impossible at times to do anything other than running away or hoping a teammate comes to your aid.

Still, glad they are so far and few in between plus my class and playstyle usually means they walk right past me, letting me knife them or shoot 'em in the back.

Its not nerfed. Try firing a real AK, they kick like crap and are the most inaccurate gun I have fired. COD MW2 finally made it what it is, crap. The only reason it is all over the world is because it is cheap to make.

I seriously hope they nerf the riot shield soon, to stop this boosting and make it less annoying. Either make it so FMJ can penetrate it or make it so after so many shots it either breaks or chunks of it break off

To use the RS you have already sacrificed mobility and any kind of long range weapon, taking away any further incentive (damage sponge) to use it would render it useless and never used.

I'm well versed in the history, but thanks anyways. If they were going to give it that much recoil, why not have it as a starter weapon then?

Apparently they improved the matchmaking today. Lost 40 mins struggling to get 4 of us in to a game with endless could not connect to hosts and drops. Then to top it off:

ARGH!

I heard it's due for release on the PS3 soon too. ;D

    • A different thing with Russia. When you say is it better, depends on things. It is better that we don't have the E.U making rules and laws that have nothing to do with them. Is the trading part better? No, that is really mucked up, but then we knew that was going to happen and we would have make agreements, like we do with other parts of the world. Freedom of movement is certainly better, but could be improved, we still need more control over our borders. do you live in the U.K?
    • So what am I quoting from them? I never listened to what Farage or his cronies said. I wanted the U.K to leave the E.u years before the referendum and it had nothing to do with Farage and his cronies. So what country do you live in? Did we work much better together? We were always at logger heads with the E.U because we disagreed with them so much. Maggie was always on at them. I would have thought the E.U was glad to get rid of us as we stopped the integration or made it a two tier. Now without us they can integrate more. I would not have voted out if it was just a trading block and we can still work together on somethings.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
