[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Why? I don't understand this. Is it because some maps you never do well on?

I'll only quit if there's horrid lag, or if someone is cheating/glitching.

Can't speak for him, but I'll quit if the map is horrible, and it has nothing to do with my performance on that map. There are certain maps that I can't stand, and I won't play on them. I like maps that I can run around in without worrying about bumping into randomly placed crap.

so in other words u camp? :p

maybe... no i just usually know where all the camping spots are in the map and kill the campers. Get way to get some easy deaths. I do like to stay in the house sometimes in that one map, i forget the name. The one with the three floors and the balcony overlooks the green house.

And my perks are ninja and cold blooded so no one ever sees me :)

Am i the only one who is getting a little annoyed at the unlimited care package glitch? I've been playing Headquarters alot recently and it seems every other match there are one or two guys on the other team getting emergancy air drops every few seconds. Sure, they racked up 60 odd kills, but they still lost the match 200-0...

Might only be focusing on using the glitch to get through some challenges too, so they can get to the next prestige faster.

I thought that patched that recently? I know the PS3 patch release on Friday was supposed to address the infinite care package issue.

Take into account that there are three platforms MW2 is on: PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Simple deduction could have been done: PC patch is out immediately, PS3 patch is already out.. so.. if people are still doing a glitch that has a fix, it's obviously the one platform that has yet to be fixed.

Yeah. Thanks for dropping the knowledge. Clearly, you're intelligent.

There could have been multiple glitches, or someone found another one recently (because that hasn't happened before...). I had no idea Xbox 360 wasn't patched. A simple "Oh, Microsoft hasn't approved the patch yet" would have worked. Get lost.

You quoted him complaining about the infinite care package glitch and not any other random glitch. :)

Just because something was patched doesn't mean there isn't another glitch out there, or that a secondary glitch was exposed after patching the previous one.

holy over react batman, he was just saying as to why the 360 hasn't been patched yet. Maybe others didn't know what the reasoning was behind it?

You're kidding, right? She gave no insight at all as to why the 360 hasn't been patched. Instead, she posted a smart ass reply, when a simple, more respectful post would have solved the issue.

Infinite care package glitch is the infinite care package glitch. The giveaway was that he said every few seconds an e-drop came in.

The previous care package glitch took about 25+ seconds to even "activate" the glitch if you didn't screw up. Which was fixed back in Nov 09.

Anyway, this was what you had to do for the previous glitch versus the new one which takes >4 to do and throw out the grenade.

1. go over a gun

2.knife and in the middle of the knife pick up the gun

3.immediatly after u pick up the gun pull out your care package

4.then drop tactical insertion

5.while he is sparking the flare be clicking RT to throw crate

6.pick it up and call your killstreak in and then you will have another care package

7.Rinse and Repeat

I'm saying someone could have just discovered a new way since the PS3 patch date on Friday. That's my point.

The previous care package glitch was found in November. The 2nd care package glitch was found in late January. A new care package glitch between Friday and today is highly unlikely.

You're right. I should stop questioning you.

Not highly unlikely at all. In fact it is absolutely a reality.

Not only that,

@fourzerotwo Ugh. This care package exploit is becoming the bane of my existence, but not for long. @infinityward is working on a permanent fix for it.

That tweet above can be found here. He posted that just two hours ago.

Note how he says "working on a permanent fix." That pretty much says to me this last patch on the PS3 did indeed not work, hence the use of the term permanent.

Finally, there is this tweet from someone called We Play COD clearly stating the Care Package is still there post Patch on the PS3.

Any comment on the reports of unlimited CP glitching post-patch on the PS3? Will this be the same for the 360?

So not at all that highly unlikely.

Yes, I know I proved myself wrong (go figure, hm?)

I follow him on twitter so I saw his tweet about IW looking through code to resolve any other issues with care packages. The latest patch patch only fixes known glitches (from what he's publicly lead us to believe) so the last patch DID work for the previous glitches (you can search a few pages back to see a listing I had quoted which included the 2nd known.) That does not mean it's fixed glitches found after they released the PS3/360 patch because those go through certification (well, MS does not sure how Sony does although I know theirs is much quicker.)

PC might already have the patch now since they can push it through IWNet. PS3 and 360 users won't see a fix for new glitches (the one you linked up) for a few weeks still unfortunately. But as far as the previous glitches, those are fixed in this patch already released (and still pending for 360.)

Not highly unlikely at all. In fact it is absolutely a reality.

Thank you. So yeah, that answers my question. That's a let down. It is really bad.

WTF Since the latest steam update I cant open mw2 at all, it just freezes at the main menu. The only way I can get it to open is disabling my network adapter, opening it, waiting until it says connection to steam failed, clicking play now, after it opens re-enabling my network adapter and letting it connect to IWnet. There's a huge thread on the steam forums about it too but valve/IW have done nothing about it so far. :(

I came across a wierd bug yesterday and i thought i'd post here to see if anyone else has experienced/heard of it , i was playing domination on skidrow using the intervention and i got killed in that long hallway but when i spawned back there was a UMP .45 in my hands . At first seeing as it wasn't on any of my classes i thought i was spectating someone else for some odd reason but in the bottom right corner of the screen where it shows the ammo it was an intervention clip and even the name said Intervention , so i tried firing an sure enough it was still the intervention even holding down LT to look down the iron sights made the scope appear :\

Swapped my Xbox copy for a PC copy. Much more impressed with the game as everything is sharper.

Unlocking everything again now but I had a good round with the FAL Shotgun attachment, the range on it is almost infinite (Like the old 1887s but with normal damage drop off).

Also had some fun rounds with Scavenger and the AT4-HS. RAWKET LAWNCHAIRS!

lol makes me kinda glad i have the PC version, iv never experienced any of these glitches or hacks. The only one iv come across is the javelin one and thats becaused i tried it for one round before it got patched. I havent even come across any hackers, or been on a hacked server. But i guess its only a matter or time/luck lol

For someone new to COD would it be better to get one of the other games or just jump in with this one if so which system?

It depends what your planning on playing. If you are going to play Single Player, start with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare than hop on over to Modern Warfare 2. The storyline does not really follow but COD4's storyline was overall, much better anyways.

If you plan on playing cooperative with friends, you can only do so in Modern Warfare 2 or Call of Duty: World at War.

If you plan on playing multiplayer, I know there are probably some that play COD4 but I would recommend just jumping into Modern Warfare 2, it is practically the same with just more to each game in MW2.

As far as what system to play on, play on what you feel is best for your style and where your friends are at. I play on the Xbox 360 as I prefer the 360 over PC/PS3, use to prefer PC in the day. But also since all my friends have and play on Xbox 360.

    • Onkyo Dolby Atmos AV receivers are really solid deals by Sayan Sen Recently we covered great deals on several soundbar models from the likes of Sony, JBL, Samsung and others for really good prices (the lowest in several months). Aside from that we also reported on the Edifier S3000MKII, a hi-fi two-way bookshelf monitor that's available for only $800. Today we bring a list of AV receivers from Onkyo that are available at great prices including the Onkyo NR7100, RZ30, and 8470 (purchase links under the specs table down below). The Onkyo TX-NR7100 and Onkyo TX-RZ30 are both 9.2-channel AV receivers designed for immersive home theater setups but they occupy slightly different tiers within Onkyo’s lineup with the RZ30 positioned as the more advanced model. The TX-NR7100 is a THX Certified 9.2-channel receiver offering up to 100 W per channel (8 ohms, 2 channels driven). It supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced formats, with flexible configurations such as 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 speaker layouts. A key highlight is its built-in Dirac Live Room Correction which should help optimize sound based on your room and its acoustics. In comparison, both models share several core capabilities though the RZ30 is geared toward enthusiasts seeking more precise calibration and system flexibility, while the NR7100 is positioned as a slightly more accessible, value-focused option with strong all-round performance. The technical specs of the RZ30 and NR7100 9.2 AVRs are given in the table below: Specification Onkyo TX-RZ30 Onkyo TX-NR7100 Power Output (FTC, 2ch driven) ~100 W/ch (8Ω, 20Hz–20kHz, 0.08% THD) 100 W/ch (8Ω, 20Hz–20kHz, 0.08% THD) Dynamic / Peak Power 9 × 170 W (6Ω, 1kHz, 1% THD, 1ch driven) 220 W/ch (6Ω, 1kHz, 10% THD, 1ch driven) Frequency Response 5 Hz – 100 kHz (+1/-3 dB) 10 Hz – 100 kHz (+1/-3 dB) THD 0.08% 0.08% Room Correction Dirac Live (full bandwidth) Dirac Live (with AccuReflex support) Immersive Audio Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced Speaker Layout Support Up to 7.2.2 / 5.2.4 / 9.2 processing Up to 7.2.4 / 5.2.4 / 9.2 processing HDMI Inputs / Outputs 6 inputs / 2 outputs (eARC) 6 inputs / 2 outputs (Main + Sub/Zone 2) HDMI 2.1 Support 8K/60, 4K/120, VRR, ALLM, QFT, DSC, eARC 8K/60, 4K/120, VRR, ALLM, QFT, DSC, eARC Video Formats HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3 HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3 Streaming / Network Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, DTS Play-Fi Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, DTS Play-Fi Get them at the links below: Onkyo TX-RZ30 9.2-Channel AV Receiver: $797.00 (Sold and shipped by Electronic Expo) Onkyo TX-NR7100 9.2-Channel AV Receiver: $699.00 (Sold and shipped by Adorma) Onkyo TX-8470 2 Ch Stereo Receiver: $449.00 (Sold and Shipped by Adorma) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified. • A different thing with Russia. When you say is it better, depends on things. It is better that we don't have the E.U making rules and laws that have nothing to do with them. Is the trading part better? No, that is really mucked up, but then we knew that was going to happen and we would have make agreements, like we do with other parts of the world. Freedom of movement is certainly better, but could be improved, we still need more control over our borders. do you live in the U.K?
    • So what am I quoting from them? I never listened to what Farage or his cronies said. I wanted the U.K to leave the E.u years before the referendum and it had nothing to do with Farage and his cronies. So what country do you live in? Did we work much better together? We were always at logger heads with the E.U because we disagreed with them so much. Maggie was always on at them. I would have thought the E.U was glad to get rid of us as we stopped the integration or made it a two tier. Now without us they can integrate more. I would not have voted out if it was just a trading block and we can still work together on somethings.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices.
