In the Aint it Cool News? set visit part two to AMC?s Walking Dead production, Quint has some more revealing info about all things Walking Dead ? including the infamous ?When are they getting to the prison?? question. Oh yeah ? new zombie pic as well ? most likely from that scene described yesterday at the gas station.

?Somewhere near the end of the second season,? said Darabont in regards to when the infamous prison is introduced. So there you go - seems we're getting to the jail a little quicker than the comics did.

And Darabont revealed that he is indeed only directing the pilot for Season One and intends to stay on as a producer which he describes as a full-time position in itself. So he will oversee everything Walking Dead. A replacement director hasn?t been announced, but it is hinted that he will hail from Canada?..So begin speculating.

As for Comic-Con ? Darabont also hinted there will be a huge Walking Dead presence there and when Quint suggested a zombie flash mob ? Darabont smiled? There will also be a first exclusive poster revealed at Comic Con that will be illustrated by a well known artist. So I?m assuming it?s either Tony Moore or Charlie Adlard (Walking Dead comic artists past and present)? But time till tell.

As for the zombies themselves ? Darabont compared them to lions ? in that you can walk right by them but if they are hungry they?ll shamble right after that delicious flesh of yours. He also re-affirmed that the fastest they?ll be moving will be the speed of the cemetery zombie in the original Night of the Living Dead. So no ?rules? are broken here ? these are oldschool zombies.

The role of Morgan was also revealed in the set visit. The part will be played by Lennie James (TV's Jericho. His son Duane was already cast and other actors were rumored but Bloody Disgusting revealed that Duane's father is none other than this guy.

If its as gory as them pics you didnt embed and the zombies look as cool as they do in them shots and they arent just promo shots then i think this is going to be my new favourite show, big fan of post apocalyptic worlds.

Yeah I read somewhere that AMC are pushing as far as they can legally go with the gore! I really cannot wait for this show and in HD as well :D

@mudslag the panel is today :)

Both Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus are confirmed by AMC to be playing brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon respectively. Both dangerous rednecks - one being an ex con and the other equally as bad.

Here's two images of them in action - Reedus with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Rooker with T Dog (IronE Singleton).

THE PANEL

* Gale Anne Hurd Kicked things off by talking about the Eisner-nominated comic series, The Walking Dead, and how the quality of that comic attracted AMC to the show.

* Frank Darabont talks about his interest in the show being a combination of George Romero nostalgia and the love of Kirkman?s approach, which keeps the zombie madness grounded in a very human story.

* Stillerman is talking about the worldwide launch of The Walking Dead TV series in October: the show will launch simultaneously all over the globe.

* Kirkman is talking about how proud he is that he found a format for ?The Zombie story that never ends,? and how he always knew a film was impossible ? but ?Zombie TV?? Very possible. No nightmare story about adaptation here.

* Nicotoro describes the ?Zombie school? that took place in Atlanta, GA, in order to cast zombie who both ?looked? the part to begin with, and actors who would give each zombie character, instead of having a mob of zombies all doing the same thing.

* New footage from the show will be shown momentarily.

* Kirkman ducked out of being a zombie in the show; Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard totally went for it.

* Gale Anne Hurd describes each of Walking Dead?s six episodes as ?a one-hour movie.? The goal was to tell a complete tale in each episode of the show. Frank Darabont adds that while they are honoring the source material ?detours? will be taken that will keep the show unexpected and interesting for both fans and non-fans of the comic.

* Kirkman adds that he wants the comic and show to exist separately, and that new stories that the show spawns will be interesting and will ?blow you away.?

* Stillerman is talking about the process of fleshing out AMC?s already impressive lineup (Mad Men, Breaking Bad) with a show like Walking Dead ? about zombies.

* Darabont announces that Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica) will be composing the show. The crowd goes NUTS.

And here comes the first footage screened from The Walking Dead. Stay tuned for a description:

* The first scene is of a sheriff?s dept forming a roadblock to catch two crooks. A gunfight ensues and Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is shot. He slips into a coma and wakes up 28 Days Later style in new world ? that?s being overrun by zombies. His wife and son are gone, and the dead are everywhere. Grimes gets himself armed and rides out on horse back to find his wife and son. At one stop, he is forced to draw his gun on a young girl zombie. Cut to black.

* Next is a montage of different scenes from the series, including Grimes on the hunt for his family, plus lots and lots (and I do mean lots) of zombie-killing moments.

* The series looks dark, gritty, emotionally gripping and just?great. Another AMC winner.

:woot:

Normally television doesn?t pay much attention to a show?s soundtrack. If a show even has a score, it?s rare anyone ever notices it. Unless of course, that score is composed by Bear McCreary.

McCreary was the man behind Battlestar Galactica?s consistently breathtaking, mood-altering music. Season after season his amazing score propelled BSG through the cosmos and lifted nearly every scene of the show to an entirely new level. And now he?s taking his talent to the world of zombies.

AMC just announced at Comic Con that McCreary is composing the score for their new series The Walking Dead. The series follows a police officer shepherding a group of survivors to safety after a zombie apocalypse. Like BSG it?s an epic, desperate journey to survive and we know McCreary can do that.

Darabont says he cannot wait to get to Michonne and Tyrese in Season Two, which has been confirmed and is a go. :woot:

When asked if any well known horror directors might one day come on board, Darabont hinted that he wants Romero to possibly direct in the future. :woot: :woot:

    • It could EASILY be 70 for the base game BUT + lots of FOMO to make it up to 100-120, like a few days Early Access, online money, pre-order bonus cars, weapons, missions, clothing, avatars or profile stuff, etc... And still WAY TOO MANY people would buy those and make Rockstar insane money.

    • WTF! Nah, not this one. If you were back then using computers in the 90s or you had a clue, you'd know this was huge and was seen and overused absolutely everywhere and you'd take this article as no more than a retrospective story. That's all it is.
    • these "editors" get paid by the amount of articles and not the quality of content; hence why we get this random stuff from the same "editor" time and time again.
