The Walking Dead (Season 2)

I watched the first episode and had my doubts. Half way through the second episode I was sure that this is one of the worst shows I've ever seen. The acting is incredibly poor and the story is just so full of holes you wonder why they even bothered.

Here are a few examples:

- Why was the sheriff asleep in hospital for so long that his beard grew? Also, how did he sleep so deeply that he didn't hear the army arrive and all the shooting and shouting that would have followed? Apparently he was also asleep long enough for his wife to completely forget about him/stop grieving his death and start sleeping with his partner.

- Why hasn't he bothered to ask A SINGLE PERSON what happened to the rest of the world when he was in hospital? Instead he chooses to chat about jewellery

- Why couldn't you hear the zombies banging on the tank when he climbed inside? (also, why didn't he look relieved/surprised/elated when he found the entrance to the tank?)

- They entered the department store from a rear entrance yet somehow the zombies all knew to try and break in through the front entrance?

- Why does the sheriff's partner pull his trousers up so high? Who does that?

It really is a second rate program and I'll be amazed if it lasts a full season.

I guess they tried the same route as "28 days later", the Sheriff was probably not asleep but in a coma. Problem is, the beard did not grew long enough for the long while he was supposed to be abandoned (long enough for the wife to be with the cop partner), alone in the hospital. Unless it stop growing when you're in a coma, I'm no doctor.... As for everything else, the sheriff seems happy to go with the flow, no questions asked. Who needs to know what happened right??

Another problem I have is with all the vehicle that are there. Are all of them empty of gas? Darn, get one of those nice Hummer and just plow your way out. They use a Challenger, but nothing else runs? There's are first time for everything, I would have tried the Tank, or an 18 wheeler, anything bigger and stronger than those zombies....

That group in the department store, was it the first time that this white power moron got into a fit with the black dude? How come it only happens "now"...?

Been renewed already for a second season :)

:o Amazing.

Agreed. And why would you swap a car for a horse? A horse that you're planning on riding down a long grass-less highway into a big grass-less city

Just caught the two episodes. It certainly has potential. The first episode moved a little slow at times, but I'm optimistic of what I'm seeing, though it would be nice if Rick would actually ask a single question about what caused the events, and for the show to indicate just how long he was in a coma for. Besides that, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I don't think its ever revealed in the comics what caused it and Kirkman said recently in an interview that he has no plans of revealing it in the show

:o Amazing.

You must be one of those people that picks apart everything about every movie and goes "OMG THATS SOOO UNREALISTIC!" Its a show about a zombie apocalypse and you are picking apart tiny unimportant inconsistencies to say its a horrible show.

amen dude. people spend too much time complaining. it's unreal. just enjoy the show or don't. no one cares about what you think.

Probably because beside the road there is GRASS. Unlimited fuel! Makes perfect sense to me man.

Apparently he was also asleep long enough for his wife to completely forget about him/stop grieving his death and start sleeping with his partner. Maybe you should watch the first episode. Clearly he was in a long coma after he got wounded and lost a fair amount of blood.

- Why hasn't he bothered to ask A SINGLE PERSON what happened to the rest of the world when he was in hospital? Instead he chooses to chat about jewellery  He probably has better reasoning skills than you. In the first 5 minutes of the first episode, you'd have noticed he had to shoot a little girl who was infected.

- Why couldn't you hear the zombies banging on the tank when he climbed inside? (also, why didn't he look relieved/surprised/elated when he found the entrance to the tank?) I kinda think he was out of breathe and had far more important things to rather than look around and wave his hands in the air to celebrate, most likely was in a bit of a hurry. He hurriedly scurries to the back of the tank once he gets in and closes the hatch.

- They entered the department store from a rear entrance yet somehow the zombies all knew to try and break in through the front entrance? Maybe because the front is glass and you can see through glass? They were all standing at the entrance.

- Why does the sheriff's partner pull his trousers up so high? Who does that? Maybe your wearing your pants to low? He's got a belt clip attached to his pants which make it seem higher than they really are.

It really is a second rate program and I'll be amazed if it lasts a full season. As someone already mentioned, there's already a second season in place. There's also greater interest in this show outside the states as well.

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
