PS3 now officially a kick ass unit

This, coming from someone who once said Blu-Ray was pure sh*t, incomplete technology and that HD-DVD was SO MUCH better....

What's your point? Blu-Ray neither offered consumers more choice nor was it priced right during the height of the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war.

This, coming from someone who once said Blu-Ray was pure sh*t, incomplete technology and that HD-DVD was SO MUCH better....

All true. Blu-ray only matured this year and even today those who have standalones won't be able to use managed copy without buying new units.

HD DVD was a better technology, that still stands. It had everything that Blu-ray has today like 3 years ago and supported Managed copy. Not only that but it used existing DVD replication that would allow quicker drop in prices of media. If you can't distinguish the two than you have to look at yourself and how you percieve value and something that's more consumer friendly.

And I never said Blu-ray was pure **** that's all your words, I just stated everything that I wrote above ..

Sony, right now (years after the release of PS3 and Blu-ray) now has something that's of REAL value to consumers. A console that is a true HD powerhouse with all the bugs fixed and added bitstreaming to satisfy even the biggest enthusiasts and it's valued at $299. In fact, this will now force all Blu-ray manufacturers to lower their prices even further if they want to compete, which is something I definitely OK!

Praises when they are due. Simple as that.
