Low-end Vista (portable computing division)

Recommended Posts

In response to all the Vista-bashing (especially on laptops and notebooks), I actually want to hear from those that have decent performance with Vista with 2 GB or less of RAM on their laptops or notebooks.

I'll even kick things off.

The notebook I'm on is a perfect example of a decent low-end Vista notebook - HP Pavilion dv9000 (actually, dv9038nr), based on the AMD Turion64 (with AMD-V support, no less) with but 1 GB of RAM. A gaming notebook it is not (2.4 for gaming graphics, thanks to the GeForce Go 6M series notebook graphics); however, it is a decent productivity notebook. It came with Vista Home Premium (32-bit).
