do any of these themes alter the in focus window style so that it looks like the out of focus windows.

as in a theme that gets keeps the out of focus style buttons and transparency level.

None that I'm aware of.

Are there uxtheme patches available? Not uxstyle core, but actual dll's that can be replaced like for XP/Vista? Thanks!

Yeah I didn't like most themes for Vista either -- the one I did like was called Transblack but doesn't have a Windows 7 equivalent yet. Instead for Windows 7 I just settled for Ribbon VS which is a slight improvement over the default Windows 7 theme. But since everyone has different tastes, that's why I compiled the list in the first place.

Well I think the port of Luna Royal is great, but it's a basic theme and I would miss the new "aero peek" feature.

Otherwise Ribbon VS is my favorite Visual Style.

Currently I'm also using windowblinds 7 (beta available through object desktop subscription), and the result is decent.

yeah Transblack was a very nice theme. I used it for the longest time on Vista.

Bit weird regarding NEXTlevel. I can install the theme just fine, but I can't get the start orb to change to the one in the screenshot. I took ownership of Explorer, I downloaded the x64 Explorer from the same page and replaced the original with it, but still no luck. Weird.

did you close the explorer.exe process and reopen it?

Yeah, but I found the cause of the problem. I opened the supposed patched explorer.exe in Restorator 2007, and only one of the BMP's were updated with the newer logo, when 3 of them needed to be updated.
