Ionium Share Posted January 22, 2010 Link doesn't work. Probably because it was moved to the windows 7 utilities section.

Mikeparkie Share Posted January 28, 2010 I'd be grateful if people could post a few links to skinning sites with lots of windows 7 themes. There doesnt seem to be that many around. Deviantart is good but so hard to navigate these days (is it just me). Thanks in advance.

Really not that hard to navigate devart... just go to customization, skins & themes, windows 7 utilities, bam you're there.

Heineken77 Share Posted February 1, 2010 Hi Everyone, Just have a couple of questions. First off, can someone please point me to a step-by-step guide/tutorial on how to install these aero based visual styles for Windows 7? I installed uxstyle, however now I'm not sure what else I need to do. Furthermore, will any of these themes using uxstyle or with any patching I may have to do hinder my computer's performance in any way after installing a new style/theme? Thanks a lot!! laq3 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Hi Everyone, Just have a couple of questions. 1. After installing uxstyle, you can go and download a theme you like. Take, for example, hmm7 (my favorite theme so far). Open the .zip (or sometimes, .rar file), and in there you should find at least two things. One, a <name>.theme file, and a folder called <name>, where "<name>" is the name of the theme. For example, for hmm7, the files are "Hmm7.theme" and the folder called "Hmm7".Copy these two files into your theme directory, which is found here at: C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. After you copy them, just double click the <name>.theme file, and it should open. Sometimes the theme can have you optionally change a few system files (optional!), which requires you to replace system files. You can find a guide for that somewhere if you search. The system files are mainly used to change the start button, so it's not required. 2. I don't think so, or, if there is, it's very slight. hope it helps!

Tanoru Share Posted June 27, 2010 I think it's a brilliant idea to have a collective point for all the popular Windows 7 themes. The number of times I've had to search these forums for the style I want (Win 7 - Blend) is ridiculous. Sensible idea!

Deo Domuique Share Posted September 24, 2010 Well... I'm pretty happy with my Shine 2.0 Theme. The only thing that I didn't like were the selected fonts. Not a problem of course... I changed to Verdana which I'm in love with and... Perfect! Got a Desktop Icons Package, a SuperBar Icons Package and a Start Menu Icon... All from Devian Art. I don't remeber the creator's name but easy to find while there are on the top lists of Devian's page. Extremely clean... Don't you think? Fully squared!
Ionium Share Posted September 26, 2010 I can't stand transparent themes anymore, dunno why. But I wish there were more themes like appows, it's so good.
