Does anyone know how to do the quick grenade throw in MP??

People are tossing the Grenade super quick and really short, and I am wondering how they are doing.

tapping L2? or when aiming with L1 tap L2?

tapping L2? or when aiming with L1 tap L2?

I am pretty sure it is definitely is not the tapping L2 unless I am doing it that wrong. But I used that a lot in SP myself so I am pretty familiar with doing it.

It is like super quick and lands right in front of you from a short distance. It honestly just does not behave like the normal grenade throw.

I am pretty sure it just has to be a very specific controller combo that does it, so perhaps it is L1 then tap L2 I will try that some more to see.

EDIT - And the reason that leads me to believe it is something specific but not well known is I really only specifically saw it in one match over and over. Then when I asked the people who kept doing it, which was a big party of guys who were all high ranks so even people on my team were part of this party, they either got all quiet or starting being ass' about it and saying something like "wouldn't you like to know." So it very well could be it is actually nothing and / or they were just getting real lucky or were that good.

Oh not sure what those guys were doing. Not sure if there is another combination there is to trow the grenades.

Nice, That is awesome CoOp is counted towards your stats for MP. It is the one and only reason I still have a positive KD Ratio. Without it my Ratio would easily be a -10 I would think. Easily LOL

I did just realize tonight when you choose Ranked, that means ranked with people near your Rank.

I was just choosing whatever and getting put into matches with people Ranked in high 30"s etc and it was just not fun or enjoyable at all.

Honestly the MP could use some work overall. I do not like the whole lack of control when choosing Ranked. I would love to choose Ranked but then just choose Plunder and only Plunder. Elimination and only Elimination.

Which BTW, I can pretty much say Elimination is by far my favorite MP mode in this game. It is more deliberate and strategy is actually involved. It makes it more like Ghost Recon to me, etc., you have to be smart. The other modes are more just run and gun, and I feel it is just to hectic and not that much fun to play. Things happen to quickly and it really comes down to who is the quicker player, almost who is the bigger "spaz," and I am not trying to use that word in a bad way, as it does have it's time and place and do not get me wrong, being that type of player is definitely still a skillful type of playing and takes a pretty good player to become good at that twitchier faster type of game play, it is just I never really liked that type of game-play personally. I would rather do an Elimination type mode where it is more about strategy and playing smart more than just about who is quicker on the controls.

So basically my final "Overall review of both SP and MP" on Uncharted 2 is...

  • Easily one of the best Single Player games in a long, long, long time, and it undeniably actually ranks among the best games ever. I just cannot stress enough how damn good the SP game is.
  • The MP is a very nice addition to have, especially on the PS3 where the MP side of things has not had a wide array of offerings thus far, so that is great to finally give a PS3 exclusive a truly worthy MP as well.
  • I absolutely love the CoOp MP games, and my only complaint with it is I really wish there were more than 3 levels. I truly hope they release some DLC and I will definitely pay for it if they do.
  • And as for as the traditional MP with other people, it is pretty good, but not what I would call special. Some modes are no fun at all if you are playing higher ranked people, some modes are just not all that fun IMO as they are just to fast paced overall, but some of the modes are real good fun. But overall the Uncharted MP is nothing that will take me away from playing Modern Warfare 2 when it is released, although it is definitely very good.

I need to get my fix on CoOp with you DL, and with other people on here.

I enjoy CoOp a lot more than deathmatch or elimination (because in CoOp I can at least win hahaha).

Definitely, especially since I have technically only made it through one of the CoOp levels in full so far.

It was the only time I played with 3 people, and we made it through the 2nd map. Every other time I have played it has just been me and one other person, and while we have made it real far, we just cannot beat it as 2 people. I do think it can be done, but having the full 3 really makes it that much better. So I am definitely down. (Y)

My 21st birthday is coming up in exactly a week, someone buy me the game ...

No? Okay :(

Sure thing, just send me your account and bank details and I shall send the cash via Western Union (Y)

what kinda co-op?

what kinda co-op?

The kind where you play with one or two other people and go through a customized level from the game meant for the three of you. It is indeed fun.

Just a thought Larry, could there be a perk for quicker grenade throws??

This is the most feasible thing I have heard, I will look into it. They do show the peoples perks when they kill you, but I never thought to look.

Yes, there is a perk for grenade throws. It is the Revenge Perk, it was given to the people who preordered the game via Gamestop.

But the Revenge Perk works only when you die. If you kill someone who has the perk, and they have a grenade, they drop it as soon as they die. If you stay around the corpse for too long (seconds), you'll get killed by the grenade.

But what DL said looks like it was people who were pretty much alive, just quick throwing the grenades.

KoL, you are pwning! 215 kills and only 19 deaths! Wow.

Most of those kills are from coop

I played one Deathmatch and I was pretty good. Like 15 kills and like 8 deaths, not bad.

I'm going to finish everything on SP first and then play MP.

Yeah definitely not what you are describing there, and it is exactly as you said in the bottom line. MoFo's are just throwing the grenades super quick and super accurate but what is the real kicker is the time they take to explode. They explode almost instantly even if they do not hit you. It is just weird, I am now on a mission to figure this out LOL

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
