Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

Recommended Posts

i think they and a lot of people here are being over confident! trandformers one came out and did so well simply because we had never seen a live action transformers. and after many of use were left in awe after the first viewing and saw it again, it sank in that this was not transformers, just a mess of a movie and a lot of those same people have no plans of seeing another bay helmed transformers crapfest.

Wait, the title says 2012, while the news post says 2011 :s which is it?

It was 2011 then Michael Bay confirmed it was 2012 so I changed it because people were complaining :p

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci Not Writing Transformers 3

Yesterday, a rumor started making the rounds (via SlashFilm) about writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman not returning for Transformers 3. I wasn't sure of the news, but I got a confirmation today and it looks like they will not be writing that sequel. The decision was made by Kurtzman and Orci themselves, and not Paramount or Michael Bay. Orci was quoted as saying: "The main reason we would move on is because we risk getting stale and comfortable. If you only sing one song for too long, you miss the opportunity to sing news songs." No word on who will be brought on to now write Transformers 3.

Back in our interview with the writers in January, Kurtzman said that they brought on Ehren Kruger to help write Transformers 2 because, "it was nice to have a fresh perspective." He adds: "It was great, someone who kind of came in with fresh eyes and said 'All right, having nothing to do with the first movie, here's the kinds of things I'd like to see and write.'" I can imagine this is what they're hoping to achieve by letting some new writers take over on Transformers 3. Kurtzman and Orci have made quite a name for themselves in Hollywood recently, both as producers on Eagle Eye and writers for Transformers and Star Trek.

As we all know, Transformers 3 was announced a few weeks ago for July 1st, 2011. There's no question that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is going to be a huge hit this summer, so Michael Bay and company better get some new writers on board fairly soon, because if it's to be the grand finale that we're all hoping for (and is better than the first two), they better have a damn good script.

  • 3 months later...

Well, given its been a month, I suppose it's time to talk about Transformers 3. As you all know, I wasn't too thrilled with Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, but my opinions and the scathing critical response haven't changed the fact that the "film" has made over three-quarters of a billion dollars worldwide. IGN recently sat down with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to discuss just what's to come of Transformers 3 and, as expected, he didn't reveal a whole lot since they're still stuffing their pockets with the box office earnings. Even still, Transformers 3 is coming whether you like it or not - it's just a question of when.

Bonaventura said that he'd "love to see [Michael Bay] back" and that he "couldn't imagine Transformers without him." But it seems that it's all up in the air right now. Bonaventura says that "the timing is the big question for him, not whether he is going to do it not." Well, of course. Why wouldn't he do it? Did I mention it's made over three-quarters of a billion dollars?! As to what we might see in the next installment, Bonaventura expressed some reservation when asked about the inclusion of the fan-favorite Transformer, Unicorn. "Unicorn worries me because it's so big that it dwarves emotion. It's so hard because when you're working to that scale, it sort of becomes outside any kind of human reality you have. That one scares me? it becomes sort of impersonal when it gets to that scale." Well, it's good that he wants to retain that element of human reality and emotion that the first two films have been so good at? uh wait, did I just black out?

Bonaventura goes on to talk about the problems Fantastic Four 2 had with its introduction of Galactus, which for all intents and purposes is a pretty good analogy, but come on ? if the past is any indicator of the future, it wouldn't surprise me if we see even more racist depictions of even bigger Transformers playing dice with our planets. As far as when we'll see this monstrosity, Bonaventura says, "We've started talking about it now. We're debating the right time for it." I'd say the right time would be right after I finish building my fallout shelter - ?cause when (not if) Transformers 3 drops, you all better have a place to hide.

[first showing]

Someone remind this tool that it's not Unicorn...

Edit: Looks like people already did so on the original article, ha.

I noticed that :p

I swear that site is awful for writing movie news, but I post it because they always have the better stories haha

Today is day one of Michael Bay?s hard graft on Transformers 3. He has, apparently overnight, flown to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about incorporating new characters into the film and is now working with Ehren Kruger on the screenplay. The final day of his travails will be on July 1st, 2011 which is now the date set for the film?s release - just like Paramount and Dreamworks had initially promised us back in March. But what does this mean for his ?smaller film?, Pain and Gain? And is Megan Fox coming back for more punishment?

According to a post that Bay himself made to his official forum, Megan Fox will indeed be coming back for more. Contractual obligation? Most likely. He?s keeping up the war of words,

Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.r you.

Great. That means we?ve literally got over two more years of this daft back and forth between them. Let?s just all agree to tune out now.

When the 2011 date had originally been touted, Bay seemed to balk and talked about shooting a smaller film before returning to his megabot behemoth of a franchise. That turned out to be Pain and Gain, a kidnapping and extortion thriller about a pair of idiot bodybuilders, which he now tells us will follow directly after Transformers 3. I Am Number 4 and Bad Boys 3 seem to have been set on the backburner for a while then, though I wouldn?t be surprised to see either of them derail Pain and Gain. Heck, I wouldn?t really be surprised to see Bay follow Transformers 3 directly with Transformers 4.

slashfilm

I'm not sure if they will do a 4th film, although the premise has limitless potential, they are such massive projects to undertake. Transformers 3 should round off the story nicely, esp. if they include characters like Unicron, Ultra Magnus etc. Oh, and Wreck Gar, but only if Eric Idle spins the voice :D

Edward Norton is taking Shia Labeouf's place.

Haha, actually, that wouldn't be that bad! Norton is awesome.

ugottobekiddingme

I loved the film too, massive robots kicking the crap out of each other, megan fox sprawled over a bike, whats not to like?

ExplorerPatcher 26100.8457.70.3 changelog: Tested on OS builds 22621.4317, 22631.7079, 26100.6899, 26100.8037, 26200.8246, 26200.8457, 26300.8493, and 28000.2113. TIP: Windows Defender no longer flags ExplorerPatcher. It is no longer needed to configure Defender exclusions. Enjoy! Important Update for Windows Insider Users If you're running Windows 11 Beta build 26220.8474 or Experimental build 26300.8493, updating ExplorerPatcher is highly recommended. Microsoft has removed parts of the old Windows 10 Start menu from these builds, which caused ExplorerPatcher's Windows 10-style taskbar and Start menu to crash. This update fixes those issues and ensures Explorer starts correctly after future Windows updates. Because the required components are no longer included in Windows, the Windows 10 Start menu option has been disabled on these builds and future builds that lack the necessary files. A temporary workaround is to replace StartTileData.dll with a version from build 26xxx.8457, but this solution may stop working in future releases. The good news: development on the Windows 10 Start menu isn't over yet. More updates are planned. Highlights Fixed crashes affecting the Windows 10 battery flyout on Windows builds 25951 and newer. As part of that fix, network flyout buttons now behave like they did before Windows 11 version 24H2. Changes to the Primary taskbar location on screen setting now apply instantly without requiring a restart. ExplorerPatcher no longer modifies Windows 11 taskbar auto-hide settings when Explorer starts. The Open Start in All apps by default option is now hidden when the new Windows 11 Start menu is enabled. Fixed Windows 10 Start menu crashes on very early Windows 11 builds (21996–22000.51). Fixed a crash in Registry Editor when switching to thumbnail view during registry import/export operations. Improved compatibility with recent Windows builds, especially ARM64 and upcoming 26H1 releases. Improved overall ARM64 performance. Added Greek language translations. Thanks to @KonVetsos! ep_taskbar Improvements ep_taskbar now supports all 43 Windows 11 display languages. Fixed several issues in the system tray and other taskbar components. For mod developers: DLL naming has been simplified and made easier to understand. For mod developers: internal TrayUI changes provide better stability across Windows builds that use different taskbar implementations. Windows 10 Start Menu Improvements To help preserve compatibility, ExplorerPatcher now includes a newly recreated version of the tile layout engine that Microsoft removed in build 26xxx.8474. Current limitations: Tiles may occasionally overlap when pinned in certain ways. Restarting StartMenuExperienceHost.exe or Explorer usually corrects the layout. Further improvements are planned. Additional Fixes Added a blacklist that prevents ExplorerPatcher's shell extension from loading inside specific applications where it may cause problems. Updated Windows 10 Start menu animation support for newer ARM64 Insider builds. Fixed a rare taskbar initialization deadlock that could occur during startup. Start10 Updates Addressed a new compatibility issue caused by Microsoft's ongoing removal of tablet mode code in Windows 11 25H2 Experimental builds. Pinned tiles are no longer reset after repeated crashes. Various wording and interface text improvements throughout the application. Translation and UI Several interface strings have been cleaned up and clarified. Thanks to @sefinek for wording improvements. Please consult the README for more details.
