Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

And, what the hell was Bay thinking? Transformer are metallic machines, they don't take on true human form.

According to the novelization, Alice scanned an animatronic Alice of Alice in Wonderland, from a Disneyworld-esque amusement park to get her human form. Presumably, she took her name from the figure as well.

Well non-metallic transformers have been around since the Beast Wars era, so it's not like Bay invented them or anything.

Beast Wars? Was that a part of the original cartoon?

I stopped watching it after the 1986 movie.

Beast Wars is part of the Cybertron Universe if you will. There are way more Transformers then just the ones from the original series. They've even fought alongside of each other in the comic books. In the Beast Wars series, Optimus Primal and the rest were on Earth way before Optimus Prime and the rest were awakened. This can be seen in one of the episodes of Beast Wars, in which they enter the Arch and see Optimus Prime laying in the Arc. They were of course after the Matrix Of Leadership.

Also, there's been other "human" Transformers. It's part of the Transformers Universe as well.

As for Transformers that resemble humans, it's entirely plausible because the technology is there (in the backstory). If I remember correctly, it's called "pretender tech".

That's odd. I could've sworn the Beast Wars animated show happened before Generation 1, lol. Remember that episode in which they entered the Arch and saw Optimus Prime and others?

Continuity-wise, the events of Beast Wars took place before the events of The Transformers (cartoon) and Transformers: The Movie. However, the Maximals and Predacons are descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons (respectively). Remember, they went back in time through a transwarp portal and ended up on prehistoric Earth.

My mate the other day was ripping into it asking why they had human-type faces, now i can answer him :D

Many of them do, but not ALL of them. Many if not most Decepticons have much more insectoid faces.

Aah yeah, now I remember it again. It's been too long since I've seen it. What I said previously does make sense now though. But I forgot that key part :p Thanks for filling me in!

@Kriz: What's been discussed above about Transformers looking like humans have nothing to do with why some Transformers have faces that resemble human faces :p

Rumours of the the possibility of James Avery, known as Uncle Phil from "Fresh Prince of Bell Air", or the Shredder from the first "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon", being cast as the voice actor for Silverbolt in the next Transformers movie instalment have been kicking around for a while now, but they have now been confirmed as true.

This ought to be interesting. I hope this really does mean we get to see the Aerialbots :D

ACToys has posted more images of the Transformers: Dark of the Moon version of Voyager class Megatron. Unlike before, these show of the toy as it will likely appear when it comes out to retail in May.

Doesn't seem to be any different than the pics that surfaced a week or so ago, other than actually seeing it in the box. One thing I notice is the change from 5 to 3 levels of conversion difficulty. Then again, 5 seemed a little silly in the first place since there were very few at either 1 or 5, and even my almost 5 year old son has very little trouble with many level 3 and 4 figures.

What happened to Megatron at the end of the last movie? I can't remember.

If you already don't know that anymore, consider rewatching the last one or both the first AND the last one (it's a good excuse for a rewatch :p).

What happened to Megatron at the end of the last movie? I can't remember.

Had half of his face blown off (think Two Face from Batman, which supposedly is the reason for the cape in the new movie), and was otherwise severely damaged from his fight with Optimus Prime. Starscream convinced him to retreat, saying something like "I'd never call you a coward, but sometimes cowards do survive". AFAIK, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave are the only 3 of the Decepticons on or near Earth known to survive the final battle.

    • Doesn’t surprise me at all. God is light & He gave us life so it sounds almost logical that we would therefore emit a certain amount of light.
