Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

Recommended Posts

I swear, I think I catch something new every time I watch ROTF. The action scenes are so visually dense that you really have to watch it multiple times to catch some of the things going on in the background. Many of the things that people complain about (such as the individual vehicles that make up Devastator also being present in other battle scenes while they should be attached to him) can also have a perfectly reasonable explanation (there were simply multiple versions of the consturction vehicles: the individual robots and also the components of Devastator, which you never see turn into robots).

There's even loads of Transformers in the comic books that look like each other. It's bound to happen really. Also, you should check out the making off from ROTF. It's an 1 hour in playtime I believe and really interesting. Specially when you find out that Bay was still working on color corrections, by using video call, a few hours before the premiere.

Where can I see that?

Sounds like a stretch to think multiple robots would take on virtually identical forms, save the twins. No need for excuses, they screwed up and Bay knows it.

The twins didn't. Skids was a Chevy Beat and Mudflap was a Chevy Trax, two very different cars (although roughly the same size). The two helicopters, Blackout and Grindor both took on virtually identical forms (MH-53 Pave Low and CH-53 Sea Stallion), and the two excavators are quite obviously the same type, but different characters, so why is it so unbelieveable that when a large group of Decpticon protoforms landed in the middle of the desert, near what appears to be an open pit mine, that more than one of them would each scan the same vehicle? Remember that protoforms need to scan an alt-mode roughly similar in mass to their normal body, and there likely weren't a huge number of vehicles in the area to choose from that were large enough for them to use. If you watch and listen carefully, there are well over a dozen protoforms that impact in the desert, more than enough for all of the construction vehicles to be scanned more than once.

So which one is the real Ultra Magnus?

The toy I had looked more like this:

Depends on which version you want to choose: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ultra_Magnus

The one from the 2008 Animated series is a similar type of vehicle: Leaderanimatedultramagnus.jpg

There's also Inferno, who is a fire truck in most versions, but supposedly the producers have stated emphatically that the fire truck in the movie IS NOT Inferno.

I am not digging the clothed Megatron. Seemed like a total rip off of Repair Exia from Gundam 00. If noone knows about it, here's a pic.

Thank you! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who had that come to mind when seeing caped Megatron. :D

Voice Actor Bill Fagerbakke will lend his voice to Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Probably best known for his work as the lovely idiot Patrick Star on the Nickelodeon hit show, Spongebob Squarepants, Bill Fagerbakke has been confirmed to be voicing one of the Chevy Impalas in third installment of Transformers.

If you are keen on voice actors and know a little bit about Mr. Fagerbakke, then you'll recognize him as the voice of Bulkhead from Transformers Animated also.

Regarding the news, there were two types of Chevrolet Impalas on the set during Transformers 3 filming; NASCAR Wreckers and an Orange-Black stock car. The Wreckers have also been confirmed to be Transformers as well.

Anyone else think Leonard Nimoy will reprise his vocal role as GalvaTron?

BTW, who is this?

The caption read as Galvatron but it doesn't look like him to me:

Perhaps he's UltraTron.

Anyway, this is what Galvatron should look like:

Both of those appear to be custom figures that someone made.

@TonyLock: UltraTron? You making up new characters up now? Also, the making-off can indeed be seen on the Special Edition DVD. Also, who said anything about Galvatron being in this movie?

maybe?

Well, you never know. Who knows if Bay will introduce Mangatron or even Galvinator?

So far he has stuck with fairly well known characters, and there are plenty of others he could still use, so why would he need to make up any new names?

Chinese website Taobao has posted a look at two Legends class toys from the Transformers: Dark of the Moon toyline. The figures seem to be the Transformers for the blue NASCAR vehicle and the black Decepticon suburbans that were part of the filming of the movie over the summer.

See Pictures HERE

Those look sort of cool, but being Legends class, very simplistic. Funny that they are sitting on the cardback for Dead End. I just picked that one up for my son on clearance at TRU the other day, along with Jolt. One of the side windows/wings promptly broke off due to the brittle plastic surrounding the hinge, but it works OK without it (it simply looks like he has his passenger side window rolled down when in vehicle mode).

Well, you never know. Who knows if Bay will introduce Mangatron or even Galvinator?

You can dream on with that thought :p

@Razorwing: Oh god :rofl:

Also, those toys are looking rather odd.
