Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

Katy Perry isn't actually all that hot either though, it's just her fairly impressive cleavage that gets in the way of male thought process'.

Katy Perry's cleavage isn't that impressive. It is on the low side of average for many women I know (my wife included), and I still think she's hot.

Michael Bay should have hired the chic from NBC's The Event, Taylor Cole ( see below ) instead of that faked-lipped Victoria Secret girl. She is way better looking than that blonde.

Those Idiotic, Jive-Talkin' Robots Won't Be Back in 'Transformers 3' After All

So much about "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" was horrible that picking a least favorite moment is like choosing between your children, if you kinda hated your children. But you really can't fall much farther than "Mudflap" and "Skids," the "urban" robots that, as The New York Times' Manohla Dargis' rightly said, "have been given conspicuously cartoonish, so-called black voices that indicate that minstrelsy remains as much in fashion in Hollywood as when, well, Jar Jar Binks was set loose by George Lucas." Director Michael Bay defended Mudflap and Skids (who, in the year 2009, had gold teeth and bug ears), claiming, "We're just putting more personality in. I don't know if it's stereotypes -- they are robots, by the way. These are the voice actors. This is kind of the direction they were taking the characters and we went with it."

But even Bay is smart enough to avoid more controversy while he can, claiming Monday on the official Michael Bay fan board -- oh, by the way America, there are Michael Bay fan boards -- that the twins will not appear in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

A fan blog tried to get fired up that Bay was lying, with reports that new and "improved" versions of Mudflap and Skids were seen on the set yesterday, but they have the date wrong on the post; the post they're referencing is more than a year old. So it looks like there will not in fact be awful stereotypes of African-Americans as portrayed by robots from an alien planet in the third "Transformers" movie. In Michael Bay's brain, perhaps this is considered progress.

Transformers 2 made a total of $836,297,228 and you say Transformers 2 sucked? I'm sorry but the box office gross disagrees with you:

I enjoyed them too, shame. I didn't even think "black stereotypes" either when I saw them, just two comical robots :p I guess this is another case of PC going out of control.... People need to stop over analyzing things and just enjoy the movie, why they gotta find "deeper meanings" in things that aren't really there is beyond me. That is my 2 cents, take with a grain of salt.

In terms of quality, it did suck. Michael Bay even acknowledges it without directly saying it sucked.

I'll bet you if they made a robot with a country accent that liked noodling, nobody would say a word. I love how people get so touchy over the dummest things.

Have you seen the Wreckers? Nascar's. One has a baseball cap, one has a mullet an the other has a beer belly. It's safe to assume they will be redneck transformers.

First Review

?I?m genuinely surprised what a strong effort this film is, not just in terms of its scope, but also in its pacing, performances, and ideas. This one dares to go dark from time to time, and that helped me find the often-lacking component of many Bay films: emotion. You probably won?t shed any tears watching DARK OF THE MOON, but you will care when certain lives are lost or in peril. This one might actually rock you a little to your foundation; get excited about that.? ? ?TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON begins with a great concept and a cool backstory.? ? ??in the final hour of this TRANSFORMERS chapter that I simply forgot to breathe; there isn?t a spare second to do so. For a solid hour, Bay and his CGI-created robot buddies decimate Chicago. And I won?t lie: seeing it so realistically and utterly leveled was almost more than I could handle.? ? ?Huntington-Whiteley is actually pretty good here and certainly miles better than Megan Fox, if only because she?s actually got something to do here beyond just looking like a million bucks.? ? ?I?ll thank whatever movie gods I have to that Sam?s annoying parents are barely in this TRANSFORMERS installment.?

That is actually very encouraging news.

Now looking forward to this and have some hope it won't be as crass (although still mindlessly enjoyable) as Revenge of the Fallen

Well if that is true, why did he make the film in the first place? As a director, he has the choice to change things on the script as he sees fit and to refuse to film anything he does not agree with so the fault is on his shoulders. If he knew the script and story sucked, he should have gone back to the drawing board and start over.

Actually, the script for the second movie was rushed because of the writers strike. Bay had already committed to making the second movie and a release date had already been set. There was no time to go back to the drawing board and start over. The script was written in a rush, the strike happened and there was no time for re-writes. I enjoyed it as a popcorn-flick, but even Bay himself admitted the second movie wasn't all that great.

    • Less powerful than a PS5 at twice the price! I wonder if they use that for marketing? Totally DoA.
