Dragon Age: Origins

dragonageoriginslogo.png

As the spiritual successor to BioWare?s Baldur?s Gate?, one of the most successful role-playing games in the industry, Dragon Age: Origins represents BioWare?s return to its roots, delivering a fusion of the best elements of existing fantasy works with stunning visuals, emotionally-driven narrative, heart-pounding combat, powerful magic abilities and credible digital actors. The spirit of classic RPGs comes of age, as Dragon Age: Origins features a dark and mature story and gameplay.

I'm really really looking forward to this game, I want it for PS3 but it sucks it comes out a little later >_<

+1 Same here :) Was hoping someone would make a Dragon Age Origins thread and now it's true :p I am definitely getting this game on PC since imo this game is easier to play on the PC than controller.

O man that comic was epic just like the game. Went through the character creator and set up 4. Man Im gonna spend all my time untill Mass Effect 2 playing through this game, screw MW2 lol. And dam the soundtrack sounded great.

I can't wait for this. I am such a huge fan of Bioware! I absolutely loved Baldurs Gate, and the first NWN, and Mass Effect.. and pretty much everything they've ever did! I picked up Risen for PC, and it's pretty fun, reminds me of The Witcher. It will hold me over until November 3rd!

XP MINIMUM SPECS

* OS: Windows XP with SP3

* CPU: Intel Core 2(or equivalent) running at 1.4Ghz or greater - AMD X2(or equivalent) running at 1.8Ghz or greater

* RAM: 1GB or more

* VIDEO: ATI Radeon X850 128MB or greater - NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater

DVD ROM (Physical copy)

20 GB HD space

VISTA MINIMUM SPECS

* OS: Windows Vista with SP1

* CPU: Intel Core 2 (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater

* RAM: 1.5 GB or more

* VIDEO: ATI Radeon X1550 256MB or greater - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB or greater

DVD ROM (Physical copy)

20 GB HD space

They are asking for quite a bit more for those that run Vista. Either way, one usually need to have the recommended specs to fully enjoy something like this.

RECOMMENDED SPECS

* CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Processor or equivalent - AMD Phenom II X3 Triple-Core 2.8 GHz or greater

* RAM: 4 GB (Vista) or 2 GB (XP)

* VIDEO: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater - NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater

DVD ROM (Physical copy)

20 GB HD space

While many Neowinians can probably handle this, it means upgrade time for me. Again there are asking for significantly more RAM for those running Vista (twice as much in this case).

Thanks for posting that, Fred Derf. I exceed all the recommended specs except for the CPU. I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2 GHz. It should be enough to run it at medium-high settings.

    • They are neither of those things They cause virtually zero issues to end users as when leveraged correctly they are invisible. They aren't 'DRM', because, they're nothing to do with DigitalRightsManagement Some Anti-Cheat services I did see are starting to *use* the TPM to store creds/tokens, which it's for, but it's not involved beyond that. I would suggest doing some reading, both articles are fairly lengthy, but for MS Learn they're actually pretty decent at explaining the concepts.
