Danielle1989
Hi, I have two .mov files and both of them are from different cameras. The problem is, that I can play one file. The second one not (WMP says it cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or may not support the codec...). I've never installed any additional codec. Interesting thing is, that if I import both files into Windows Live Movie Maker, they play without any problems. How is this possible?
+LogicalApex MVC Posted October 19, 2009 MVC Share Posted October 19, 2009 Not sure, but I usually use VLC when messing with Apple's Craptime (sorry meant Quicktime) format.

Preppy Veteran Posted October 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 19, 2009 Hard to say without seeing the clip and knowing what codecs it uses.
TGT
.mov is a container file that can hold an array of different video formats. Since the files are from different cameras, they most likely contain video of different formats - one in which WMP has the proper codecs to decode the video and one in which it does not.
