AT
Or search for "MP3 exploit"... your point is centered around problems in random client rendering applications, and specifically ignores current versions of WMP or WinAMP. The 2001 WMP reference you make has been folded into the basic Windows code for years now, to my knowledge, and that fix is part of XPSP2, to my knowledge. So: probably not generally relevant any more than old MP3 buffer overruns in WinAMP might be.If you know of some extant (current) BO with WMP10/11 whatever, please provide specific details. But this digression seems largely unhelpful, since getting WinAMP working would seem to be first on "our" list. :) Click this link: * http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket , which I had quietly linked to in my post. :) On the instructions for Win 7, it states, "If you hit a crash and get the opportunity to send an error report, do so!" And when the error comes up in Winamp, it only gives me the choice of closing the program and has nothing about an error report :( i had no idea winamp had problems under windows 7.ive used it since the beta with absolutely no issues at all. I've really have no issues with it as well when playing MP3's and such. The only problem I have is when I stream Power Hit Radio as well as ZIP FM from Lithuania through it, although in WMP12 the stations seem to work fine/playable. I also have the latest version of Winamp(5.56) downloaded straight from their website.
Preppy Veteran Posted October 23, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 23, 2009 Run WinAMP under the Windows Debugger (windbg) and capture the crash dump. Then put that up somewhere and link to it. That'd probably show most of the interesting call stack.

That is all. Tested Software and Security Update Download Locations: From the MS link: Non-Affected Software: ? Windows Vista ? Microsoft Windows 2003 For Itanium-Based Systems and Windows Server 2003 with SP1 for Itanium-based Systems ? Microsoft Windows Media Player 6.4 when installed on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 ? Windows Media Format 11 Series when installed on all Microsoft Operating Systems It looks like it was a pre SP3 problem.
PurePhoenix
As far as i can tell, Nullsoft haven't fixed the winamp asx exploit either. It's not in their changelog, version history or mentioned on google at all. Edited October 25, 2009 by Anaron
