eFX
Disclaimer: I'm not that familiar with Apple products. I don't own an AirPort Extreme. I was wondering if I can use/set up AirPort Extreme like the following: AirPort Extreme wirelessly connects to Wireless ADSL router as a client. PC connects to AirPort Extreme using Ethernet. AirPort Extreme provides access to the internet for the PCs connected through Ethernet. I know the setup is strange. Reason for this is because I don't have working Windows 7 wireless drivers for my PC, so I can't connect to the ADSL router. Thanks.
DrivenDaily
Not 100% positive on this but if you don't need N wireless you could do this for 40USD by buying a WRT54GL and flashing Tomato or DD-WRT firmware to it. I haven't connected to a wireless ADSL router before, but I have connected to a typical run of the mill router with DD-WRT as a client, client-bridge, etc. There are numerous tutorials on the topic. eFX
Thanks for the response. I ended up buying the Airport Express, works as I want it to. I asked at the Apple shop and they told me Airport Extreme can also do it. I didn't want to hunt down another router (I'm in Australia so choice and availability is somewhat limited) and muck around with firmware flashing, etc. Just needed something that I know is going to work with no hassle. petroid
FYI, I just bought an AirPort Extreme, the newest model. Not quite feeling it yet, seems a bit unstable with my devices compaired to my old WRT54GL. Also I can't do as much with it. I think I'll get used to it however. Quillz
I bought the AirPort Extreme Base Station about two months ago (before they were recently upgraded to the triple-antennae model), and it works fine for me. Since I'm on AT&T vDSL, I actually can't take advantage of all the features it offers (due to some strange configuration), but hey... It gets me on the Internet and it's never dropped the connection, so I can't complain.
