Perian for Windows?

Question

Hi Guys,

When I was using OS X I would always install Perian which is basically an all-in-one audio/video codec pack.

Is there anything like this for Windows that you would recommend?

I've noticed that some of my videos (e.g. MKV containers) don't play well or seem out of sync in Windows Media Player, although I never had that problem with QuickTime/Perian on an older system.

Hmmm with 7 you hardly need any codecs, but whenever I install codecs I use https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=...;f=12&id=11, its the one that causes less side effects for me, you can get it at http://www.codecguide.com/about_kl.htm

Yeah I was just reading a blog that said Windows 7 can natively decode formats like H.267/DivX/etc. I have a fresh Windows 7 system so I want to avoid any codec pack "side effects". Ages ago I would always use FFDshow.
