Remysaus
Ok, so I've been planning on getting a macbook for over a year now, finally getting to the point where I can actually afford one :p The problem is, I've decided to get the 15' macbook pro asap, but now a friend of mine said the pro's will probably get updated in a few months too, as the 'normal' macbooks have gotten an update as well. so.. my question, should I wait or just go get it now? I'm still working on a 4 year old laptop that really had it's best time and it's frustrating the hell out of me. so there's that, and I'm starting at a new school in february where it's just necessary to have a proper notebook. Is there any indication on when the pro's will be upgraded and how big a difference these will make..
churchonsundays
i would wait for the mbp with the new processors. i just bought a mbp and now im returning it later today. and waiting for the new i7/i5 processors. its well worth the wait. good luck. suspiria
Sort of in a similar situation as you are. I'm buying a MacBook Pro next month. Regardless of whether or not a minor speed bump is on the horizon. A Core i7 or i5 or whatever they're rumored to be getting won't load webpages in Safari any quicker, nor will it research and write my papers any faster than a Core 2 Duo.... In other words... I couldn't care less. It's more than fast enough as it is.
Guest
Just to note, Apple said there will not be any more product updates this year - http://gizmodo.com/5390583. If you really need a new laptop, I would go for one now as the current configurations don't disappoint. (I have the 13" MacBook pro which I got in September).
