[MAC] ⌘

My MacBook Pro from late 2008, as well as my wireless keyboard, say command on them. So your theory about it being just the mba is busted :p

Must be location-based. Both my iMac keyboard and my MacBook Pro both say "cmd".

I think so too, the US MBA Keyboard (not just the odd letter or symbol) layout is rather different from my British MBA.

It is. The American keyboard layout displays both symbols and their names, while the European keyboards are solely symbol-based. For example, on the American keyboard, it's not obvious that the Shift key is represented in the GUI by a large upwards-pointing arrow. But on the European keyboards, the Shift key is represented only by that symbol.

The European keyboards have a larger Return key, too.

Hah! On my first gen MacBook it doesn't even say anything!

It wasn't until the 2007 keyboard redesign that Apple defined the symbol as "Command" for the first time.
