[Laptop] Mouse or Trackpad

For general use, do you prefer the trackpad or using an external mouse plugged into the laptop. I do have a mouse but I sometimes switch between the two (Which I didn't even realise I started doing until recently, which I was surprised at). This apples for when you are back at home and have the laptop on your desk rather than out and about.

Other means Trackballs etc. Those weird things.

Screw Trackpads, i always use a wireless mouse with a laptop.

At home I have laptop on my bed more regularly than on the desktop, there's a PC on it. So touchpad.

I use both.

I use my Trackpad for general use, which is extra useful because of the zoom/scroll gestures.

Though I connect my Wireless MX Revolution mouse when I want to play games, or dabble in Photoshop and the like.

I have this bad boy. Perfectly happy with it. Nano receiver and AA battery which can run for up to 12 months are win combination :)

both equally, i'm so used to using trackpad i use it will playing games and such, and while on my bed. when i'm at my desk i prefer a mouse(sidewinder x8) but it doesn't matter, it does matter on some games though like bioshock or some with shotty mouse sensitivity, plus i'm in my bed most of the time

I used to be a firm believer in mice and can't use a touchpad properly. However I only use my laptop at school so I can't be bothered to bring a mouse along especially when there's limited space. Also to conserve weight haha. So I use my touchpad exclusively with my laptop which I got pretty good at -- it becomes natural when you've used it enough :p I went on a trip for a month and brought my laptop along, I did bring my mouse (VX Rev) but I never used it.

i use the little red thing between the BG and H keys. on both my ThinkPads and my desktop. i never ever use a mouse (or the trackpad) and never look back.

Once you get used to it, it's way better than the pad.

I use a mouse for some serious laptop usage. For light browsing or whatever, I just use the trackpad.

Trackpad when I'm on the go, but if I set up shop somewhere trackball all the way.

Don't diss a trackball until you have used it for a while, then it's great.

Exactly my reasoning for picking up a Sidewinder. Now that the era of the 'play and charge' mouse is upon us I might consider moving to the X8.

Mac touchpad is so Mac...

Use Synaptics touchpads, they're better :)

Trackpad when I'm not at my desk, and when I'm at my desk I use a Logitech Performance MX (because I connect to an external monitor), though I have a Magic Mouse currently on order because I love the gestures and free scrolling on my MacBook Pro trackpad.

If I have it, then I'll use a mouse on my laptop/netbook - the only time I use the trackpad is if I'm mobile.

both, it depends on where I am, in bed mousepad on a desk mouse(wireless). should be the option "both".

If I'm on the go, the trackpad is the only way to navigate.
