Next Nintendo Wii Console to go Beyond HD

Recommended Posts

^ And thats the thing, people get the wii thinking "oh yeah im gonna have fun" realize its a party system and it RARELY gets taken out every month let alone a year.

Yes the Wii sold a lot because of what was advertised, but I can tell you about 25% of those people from the actual whole number dont use it anymore, and i think thats not saying enough.

All I know is, within a year of me working at my store, weve sold 400-500 wiis and 350 came back traded or they dont play it anymore and want to get something else but keep the wii because they dont get enough money for it.

Hell we have 28 wiis traded in within 3 weeks last/this month. Its sad.

I've played my wii a lot more than my 360, lots of great games (most of them from Nintendo though,....)

Btw when they say "beyond HD" they don't mean higher resolution lol they mean that the next console won't just be a Wii with HD resolution, they'll add more than just HD

Nintendo's next console WILL have HD as at that time, HD will be the standard. It's still not the standard, but it's becoming the standard. So stop being so narrow minded about that ... :) I hooked up our new Wii next to my PS3 and I gotta say, with the component cable, set to RGB, the visual output is really good!

But yeah ... what theyr'e saying is sure, they'll have the basic stuff like HD but they will move past that and have a new feature or features that will blow the competition away. Like the Wii did.

I agree and I have this strange feeling they are holding out for 3d HDTV to become more prominent as Nintendo has show an interest in 3d in the past (Virtual Boy)

Using your gamer friends as a benchmark for the Wii will only give you insight as to what gamers are doing. Let's put a bit of perspective on this: how many places advertise a 360 or PS3 room? I see Wii rooms showing up more and more in apartment complexes, hotels, dormitories, clubs, et cetera. Nintendo expanded their market far outside the realm of gamers. Even if gamers using the Wii decline non-gamers are more than making it up.

I've never ever heard of a Wii room. Perhaps in an American thing...

I was just thinking earlier that Sony's 3D addition announcement might have something to do with Nintendo's plans.

As an American, I have no idea what the hell that's supposed to mean, other than a room without a coffee table in front of the couch, and perhaps a lack of a hanging light fixture and/or ceiling fan. Whether or not the room is supposed to have Nintendo branded carpeting is beyond me.

As for the article...

ALL I HEAR IS TALK! EITHER BRING IT

OR SHUT THE HELL UP NINTENDO!!

Otherwise known as a media or game room.

My point is I see dedicated "Wii rooms" popping up which I've never seen for any other console. As in there will be a media room or game room then there will be a "Wii room". Some apartments even advertise this "wii room" quite a bit.

You haven't seen it for any other console because you can just pick up and play other consoles. They don't require you to wave your arms around all crazy and such.

Niether does the Wii.

Right, except that people have just been known for hurting themselves getting into the game(s), breaking TVs or whatever the controller hits, hitting people, etc.

Hell, I witnessed someone taking a blow to the head after a friend had just got his Wii. Think it was the baseball or bowling game.

People choose to do that. It's not required. I've seen people, usually kids, who've hit each other in the face with zapper guns or even normal controllers.

They are going to be waiting a long time to update to HDTV+ then as 3D isnt even out fully and the marketshare for 3D HDTVs is gonna be a fraction of the percentage of HDTVs in the world, so it looks like Nintendo are gonna keep repackaging the same old crap for a few generations to come.

You haven't seen it for any other console because you can just pick up and play other consoles. They don't require you to wave your arms around all crazy and such.

But it's also due to the face that the other consoles have games focusing more on online multiplayer and less split-screen/local multiplayer which is a shame.

There's no such requirement.

Most Wii games can actually be played on your couch whilst eating a burger.

It's just about wrist movement, physical body waggling and "running around your room" is grossly over exaggerated.

I played most of RE4 lying down as when I did so I was sick.

However, it's mostly because of the space requirement that any such advertisement would really exist.

I think you're confused as to what a Wii Room is; it's a space in a public place to unwind and play a Wii, whether it be in a hotel or family area. It's not a room with enough space to play a Wii, it's a place to play a Wii in public called a Wii room, much like McDonald's used to have Gamecubes in their kids' areas. It exists because people can go relax for 15 minutes or so playing a game without getting into a huge long game for maybe 2 players on any of the other systems.

    • 2TB WD_Black SN7100 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD drops to its lowest price in over three months by Fiza Ali Amazon is currently offering the 2TB WD_Black SN7100 internal solid-state drive at its lowest price in over three months, so you may want to check it out, if you have been considering a storage upgrade, before the deal dries up (purchase link is toward the end of the article). Featuring a PCIe Gen 4.0 interface and M.2 2280 form factor, the SN7100 promises to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and sequential write speeds reaching 6,900MB/s, offering as much as a 35% improvement in performance compared with the previous generation. It also achieves random read speeds of 1,000,000 IOPS and random write speeds of 1,400,000 IOPS. The drive uses Western Digital’s TLC 3D NAND technology for reliable performance and is further supported by a five-year limited warranty. It also offers strong endurance, rated at up to 1,200TBW, making it suitable for demanding workloads such as gaming, content creation, and high-speed recording. Moreover, its DRAM-less architecture claims to improve power efficiency (the SSD relies on system memory for caching via HMB), while the WD_Black Dashboard software enables users to monitor drive health, install firmware updates, and activate Game Mode for potentially better performance. Finally, it operates within an operating temperature range of 0°C to 85°C, and can withstand storage temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. 2TB WD_Black SN7100 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD: $242.96 (Amazon US) Check this deal out if you want a 4TB option. • It IS confusing! What channel are you in on each device? I'm guessing your 16GB device is on Experimental (formerly known as Dev) and your 128GB is on Beta.
