I've just gone back 20mb, but they still can't sort out the fact that I should get a another modem.

Post on their newsgroups if you haven't already. Their support on there is excellent. Much better than their 'please hold while I transfer you to another department' customer support.

No problems with 50Mbit here - aint had any really since it was installed over 6 months ago.. currently pulling 6.2MB/s down from the interwebs.

VM has said (tho, thats not worth much) that they wont be capping/limiting the 50Mbit, we should also be seeing some better upload speeds in the new year..

I had 50Mb installed a few weeks ago, I get full speed all the time. No issue accept with the router at times needing a reboot.

Yes, it is worth noting the Netgear router they provide is aload of tripe...

Ive only had the 50MB service for 1 1/2 months now but its been really good! I always seem to get full speeds really and can download from Usenet at like 5.5MB/s!! Which is amazing. I can download like 25GB in 1.5 hours! Gosh ive been downloading too much recently lol.

My line was poor the other day and dropped to like 3Mb, I reset the Virgin Modem and voila was back to straight 50Mb.. so seems excellent for me atm. No traffic shaping is brilliant, only cost me ?2 extra a month to get 50Mb from 20Mb so why not?

Im glad I read this.

I use Zen broad band and have had a steady 8mg but its caped at 50g a month.

I have now moved into a virgin area so was thinking of getting the BB.

But im really can't be assed to argue with them if pay for a 50mb line and only ever get a crappy line speed.

I am paying a igh price for a stable good line but now that I have moved i only get half the speed i used to get.
