Agreed, I already have Opera setup the way I like it, so the lack of jumplist support doesn't really give me any major problems, I will always say that extra performance is beneficial to a browser.

As previously mentioned, it'll be noticeably slower for pages heavy on JS execution until the next major engine update.

You can get the Qt4 version instead of the Qt3 version by replacing "shared.qt3" with "qt4", so the file name is: opera-10.10.gcc4.qt4.x86_64.rpm

this opera icon appears in task bar [notification area] when "unite is enabled".

they can just put that menu ( +recently visited site, speed dial) for the main icon in taskbar. :D

btw, why opera has not yet done anything in "private browsing" field? :p

I really don't know why Opera bother with the desktop browser market... They're never going to be ANYTHING other than an also-ran against IE, Firefox or Chrome, but their mobile browser is widely considered to be THE browser for mobile phones.

They should stick to concentrating on improving that instead, and give up on the desktop market.

The browser has a stronger presence in Europe, and 20% market share in Russia. And even despite this, I'd be pretty proud if I would develop a browser that was used in 2% of all Internet-enabled computers in the world. That's still quite a chunk of users -- way more users than who are even aware that a site like Neowin.net exists.

I don't know why your shaking your head like that, you do know you don't have to

use right? Even though i don't use Unite myself or if i ever will, but it's nice to see tons of

improvements and bug fixes towards the browser.

Opera is really my second favorite browser, only one thing bothers me is that there is no option to switch to previous tab on closing current tab (all the options provided don't cover this tiny option).

I couldn't care less about the "Unite" feature, but the browser itself is pretty damn fast. Faster than Chrome, in fact. I'm very impressed! More importantly, no rendering issues thus far, either.

Opera is my perfered browser on Linux.

Chrome is my perfered browser on Windows

Firefox is my perfered browser on Mac OS X

if your turn OFF Unite, that icon will go away.

if you use "Opera mail" or rss, that icon appears.

found another way.

Windows

Right click on Opera shortcut > Properties

Find target fields which should look similar to this:

Target: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\opera.exe”

Replace with: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\opera.exe” /notrayicon (with quotes).

Linux

Find your launcher and edit it by adding -notrayicon in the end.

i MAY switch, im not sure if i could get used to the internet with Ads again, specially that intellitext that drives me crazy. Ill play more with unite before deciding

Ill miss my password sync of Firefox, and extensions though..will have to explore further as firefox has been a real dog for me lately and i was hoping to wait it out till Chrome got beefed up.

I will explore further as I use opera at work for its security and speediness already.

F12 > Edit Site Preferences... > Content > uncheck Enable content blocking
