Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2 PC System Requirements

These are the system requirements for the upcoming PC versions of Battlefield games:

Minimum Frostbite PC Specifications for BFBC2 & BF1943.

* Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz

* Main memory: 2GB

* Graphics card: GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900

* Graphics memory: 256MB

* OS: Windows XP

* Free HDD space:

o 15GB for Digital Version, 10GB for Disc Version (BFBC2)

o 10GB for Digital Version, 4GB for Disc Version (BF1943)

Recommended Frostbite PC Specifications for BFBC2 & BF1943

* Processor: Quadcore

* Main memory: 2GB

* Graphics card: GeForce GTX 260

* Graphics memory: 512MB

* OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7

* Free HDD space:

o 15GB for Digital Version, 10GB for Disc Version (BFBC2)

o 10GB for Digital Version, 4GB for Disc Version (BF1943)

WTF are the additional 5 - 6 GB for digital versions??!?!?

gotta be some extreme DRM there.. :D

Exactly, usually it only installs the most important files and leaves stuff like video, certain audio ( music etc. ) and other contents on the disc - With the digital version, it all is being installed to the HDD.

I though nobody does that anymore and everything is installed by default including all the videos and other materials, but i suppose it makes sense

I can't think of any PC games in the past 6-7 years that keep some content on the disk after installing...?

That's gotta be the highest video card recommendation I've ever seen.

well BC2 is Dx11 aswell :)

i read it somewhere..

so it musnt be that..

i played the Demo of DiRT 2 and it is a heavy game..

witheverything maxed out my NFS: Shift does 70 80 plus..

DiRT 2 hardly goes over 50 with everything max and just 2x AA .. and the res i play is at 1024x786

Yikes, a 260 as the recommended video card? We'll see how well my 9800 can perform here. I've got a Quadcore and 8 GB of RAM, so everything else should be okay.

Speaking of RAM, does that 2 GB recommendation seem a little low to anyone else? I expected to see that for the requirements, but not the recommend specs.

i know me too, and im about to get me a Q9400... so ill be sweat to play this with no problems...

yea i would think 4gigs for a recommendation for me about right and 2gigs a mem, my rule of thumb is 2gigs mem min for vista/7 for playing games!
