I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong but I average 700-1000 credits a game. Sometimes, I get as many as 2500 if I complete a daily challenge. Is there a secret to getting more credits? I usually play team slayer and firefight with the odd game of invasion or team SWAT.

Nope, you're doing fine.

Anyone see 60 AI on the screen yet?!? I know I haven't.

I would probably look at firefight for that one. The only campaign levels that got close were ones with tons of background combat which were actually AI units. I saw wraiths, ghosts, scorpions and warthogs in combat and actually killing each other in the distance. There was also quite a large number of enemies on screen during the space combat mission and the final mission.

Wow! I just tried Team SWAT and it's amazing. So far, it's my favourite matchmaking game-type. Invasion is also fun but it can get one-sided very easily. Two out of the three times I played it, I had unskilled players on my team that would only go for kills.

Yeah, I like SWAT, Headhunter and the zombies too! Though I'm awful with the lightsabre thing.

How can you suck with the Energy Sword? It's practically impossible within close quarters.

Because every time I get it I never have sprint on, and whoever is near me is always firing at me and I always end up dead.

I press RT but it my player doesn't lunge forward.

If Reach's current betrayal system isn't tweaked, I'm not going to play it anymore. Plain and simple.

I finally got the tank, and immediately a teammate starts bashing me in until I'm nearly dead. I get out and melee him, he kills himself and boots me and then tells me via message about how much he enjoyed trolling me.

Seriously, Halo is a breeding ground for freaking idiots.

Someone on the other team decided to get a rocket and kill EVERYONE on their team. When I saw their name at the side of the screen and that they I had been booted, I chuckled.

But no one's trolled on me yet. If they do then they'll regret it.

Damn, that sounds brutal. I've been playing Halo 3 fairly regularly since it came out (I've obviously dropped it now in favour of Reach), and I don't think I've ever encountered somebody that bad. I've met my fair share of idiots (guy who jumps in front of my nades, guy who gets in my face, guy who helps the other team because his friend is on it, etc..), but that takes the cake!

I suppose we can hope that the people who aren't serious about playing will leave in time.

Anybody getting the message.

"Reach server is unavailable right now. please try again later."

Last time i saw something like this was back in the Beta.

I got it a few times, the other night, but it resolved itself after a minute or two each time. It didn't become much of a problem.

How can you suck with the Energy Sword? It's practically impossible within close quarters.

In "Infection"? It's super easy to suck with the Energy Sword. Any kind of super short-range weapon vs. a medium-long range weapon sucks, especially when you throw in having no shield.

Even in regular game-types, it's easy to suck with it. It doesn't lunge as far as it did in previous games, and you're always vulnerable for a second and a half or so after striking and before you can strike again; so again, if you're fighting someone with any kind of ranged weapon, it's very easy to lose. The Energy Sword isn't nearly as powerful as it was; not from what I've seen.

On top of that, everyone has different playing styles. If someone is more accustomed to, say, DMR or the sniper rifle, it can be challenging to switch it up to a close combat weapon. And vise versa.

It won't make me give up the game, but it's definitely tweaked my cookie a time or two, as well.

The other night in a Neutral Assault game, one of our players quit out in the very beginning, leaving us three against four. My two team-mates didn't really know what they were doing--never went for the bomb, never defended the base, just out trying to get kills of which they managed very little. And all of that is fine, I don't mind playing with "newbies", at all. I was in the Scorpion a lot of the time, defending the bomb from the other team, racking up 25+ kills, and trying to hold them off so that our team could grab the bomb and plant it. At one point, I had a guy charging me, so I was backing away from him so that I could shoot him. My team-mate managed to slide behind me in a ghost, which of course I can't see, and my slow-as-hell Scorpion ended up plowing him over and killing him. I was booted after a second.

anyone have some tips for the last mission (Pillar of Autumn) for

clearing the platform for Keyes

on Legendary solo?

I played it in co-op, but I basically ran from turret to turret to keep them online. They're fairly well hidden behind large rocks, so it's easy to stay out of the chaos and keep a clear shot most of the time. Otherwise, I stuck close to the door, with all of the ammo, and continued to shoot the hell out of them

.

Of course, now that I explain this, I can't clearly recall if this is the part you're talking about, or not. Sorry if it isn't.

It's kinda cheap, but either stay up near the top (where you entered that portion of the level) or go in that little building and make good use of your DMR and your shotgun. In addition to the supplies in that building, remember there's some behind it as well, so venture out at some point and grab them if you need em. Take your time, and do not rush ANYONE, even a grunt. Just shoot from a distance (except with the shotgun, obviously... with that use it when the grunts and brutes get close to you and no one else is around).

@ Emily: Yeah, I'm getting tired of quitters. I have played multiple games where it's been me versus the other team -- as in EVERYONE on my team quit, and no one on theirs. Did I mention I was in big team battle all those times? Ugh.

Ah I just finished it.. lol should've looked at this thread before.. but what I did was pull out all the stops, sneaking up on brutes, doing a little dancing around the plasma cannon brutes and grunts.. but I finally did it. Surprisingly, I actually ditched my DMR in the beginning of the level, thinking I can get it back.. so I had to improvise.. lol.. but totally glad I got the achievement now :D .. 2 more to go.

Yep, I just finished it and I hated it but I found the best thing was for the first few waves sit back on the ledge that you first come out and use the sniper from up the top so they don't flank you

When you start to run out of ammo pick up the spikers and kind of make a pattern of going upstairs killing a brute then running down to the little room (They can't come in)

If you keep doing this then you will kill every brute eventually

Its a bitch to beat though and so frustrating, If only you had the dmr!

well to be honest the level wasn't that hard. There were other levels which was more difficult ... One of them I suppose.. would be

the part where you have to activate the AA guns.. if you remember it's the area right after you see a transport getting shot down I had such a tough time on that level.. the marines would just stay there and do nothing... even if they see a grunt walk past them.. they won't shoot it O_o.. then you have a couple of Wraiths to put down.. and mind you they are really difficult to put down. Ontop of that, near where the last point of activation, there is an Elite (I think) with a Fuel Rod + a Cheiftain... one time I thought the room was clear.. I was soooo freaking scared to go in that room, ,threw in a couple of grenades ... nothing.. no noise.. so I assumed it was clear. Then I walk in .. BOOOM BANHAMMERRRRR... >.< There wasn't a check point either -.-.

I was really frustrated on that part.

btw, is anyone up for some credit boosting this weekend? we can do some gruntpocalypse to boost up. Let me know.. post here or IM me on XBL.

On Pillar of Autumnthe DMR weapon storage container is hidden, behind the building theres a weapons container hung on the wall the wrong wall. Slap it and it'll fall to the ground and get your Dmr's .

Your sentence really confuses me. So the weapon container is behind a building. It is hung up but it's the wrong wall?

The DMRs are behind the only building you're capable of going into at the start of the level. They're laying down behind that building. The weapons container looks like it fell down. There is no door going to this area, you just have to walk behind the building.

    • My experience in the past with older Windows 11 builds was not great on unsupported machines but I recently used Rufus to put the latest build on a older 5th Gen Core Thinkpad T that we upgraded with a SATA SSD and 8GB of RAM four years ago when hardware was reasonable and it seemed pretty fast and solid. Customer is very happy with the performance and will probably get four more years out of that venerable laptop that he loves so much. Another customer just retired his Dell Studio laptop from 2009 running Windows 10. It got an SSD over 10 years ago and did everything he needed it to for 17 years but he also retired last year and is happy doing everything on his iPad now.
    • Apple's newest AirTag 2 gets first big discount by Taras Buria In late January 2026, Apple introduced its second-generation AirTag trackers, bringing a refresh to the old model that has been on the market for half a decade. Now, you can get these new trackers at an all-time low price, thanks to the first big discount that brought the price down by 17% on Amazon. While the second-generation AirTag looks identical to its predecessor, it packs meaningful upgrades inside. The second-gen ultrawideband chip works 50% farther than the original AirTag, allowing you to detect lost items in a wider range. In addition, the second-generation AirTag features an upgraded Bluetooth chip for extended range and a significantly louder speaker (up to 50%) so that you can hear it better when locating a lost item. Note that the second-gen AirTag only works with iPhones and iPads that run iOS/iPadOS 26 and newer, so you need a compatible device to use the tracker. Like the original AirTag, the AirTag 2 is available in two packs: one and four pieces. Both are now available at a notable discount on Amazon, and you can purchase them using the links below. • I've been on Deezer for over a decade, but glad that Tidal joined them in fighting AI slop. Can't stand such takes as Spotify's: "Spotify's CEO recently pushed back against listeners who call AI music "slop," urging people to stop using the term and instead embrace the creative potential of AI music."
    • “Could” … in the IS the healthcare is run by insurance companies that make indecent profits denying basic treatments to people that are paying money for nothing. Besides, where are all the Trump epigones who were stating that the tariffs were going to paid by foreign companies and not the US citizens? …
    • Microsoft Teams gets smarter at spotting sneaky meeting bots by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is set to receive a couple of new features soon, including a dedicated Recap app and a rather controversial location tracking functionality. The Redmond tech giant has also explained how it has made online communication and collaboration a lot more performant this year. Now, the company has detailed more secure bot admission mechanisms, as first reported by us in March 2026, and now available in Teams. As the use of AI has expanded across enterprise environments, Microsoft has begun allowing users to integrate bots into their meetings for various tasks, such as note-taking. While this has a tangible productivity benefit for users, Microsoft has highlighted how misconfiguration has allowed bots to join meetings that they shouldn't. This has created security and privacy risks, which Microsoft is now combating using a new Teams admin policy that allows organizers to control how external bots access meetings. Admins can leverage a policy called Manage external bots and their access to meetings. The default configuration is "When detected, require approval before joining", which places detected bots in a lobby before they are explicitly admitted into the meeting. The other option disables the experience. Microsoft has also requested admins to only allow organizers and co-organizers to manage access to a meeting, so that other people don't randomly allow bots into meetings. Teams will now be able to leverage infrastructure signals to intelligently detect and distinguish between bots and humans. Microsoft will soon also trial a registration experience for independent software vendors (ISVs) to build a system that registers a bot with Microsoft, so it is marked as a "known" bot. Teams will also categorize bots as trusted and suspected threats so that organizers can quickly identify which bots they want to allow into a meeting. Additional safeguards to block accidental admission of a bot into a meeting include: No one-click Admit option for identified bots Confirmation prompts when admitting participants that include bots Warnings when organizers choose Admit all, and bots are included Microsoft has begun rolling out this experience, and it will be retiring the current CAPTCHA verification implementation. In the future, the company plans to roll out new capabilities like allow-lists, organization-wide policies, admin reports, audit logs, and more granular controls.
