[Steam] Holiday Sale

Recommended Posts

I sometimes wonder if games/dvds were this cheap all the time, if piracy would be no longer and the game manfctrs would make more money too. win win surely.

Yeah, when games are this cheap it is hard not to buy them. This Steam sale is one of the best things on the internet ever.

I'm picking up mass effect for sure. I'm on the fence about the DOOM pack. I've never played Doom 3, but I've heard good things about it. Anyone recommend picking it up?

Edit:

Hmm...After looking at the system requirements it says Vista/7 not supported. Has anyone gotten Doom 3 to run on Windows 7 x64?

Both DOOM 3 and DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil run on Windows 7 x64.

EDIT: Btw...

I picked up the Doom Collection even though I already had them all retail; I wanted them on Steam as well. Also, my old copies of Ultimate doom/doom II/Final Doom were the Win95 versions, and Steam's are the original DOS versions, so the collector's side of me is happy (even though I'll usually be playing those DOS versions with ZDoom anyways. :p).

I already had Mass Effect; anxiously awaiting for ME2 to be released and for my Collector's Edition pre-order to ship. :D

Son of a ...

Had to buy Mass Effect as well, despite the fact that I may never complete it on the PC ( Been through the 360 version and I might get the 360 version of ME2 as well. ). Curse you Holiday Steam Deals, CURSE YOU!!!

Everyone who bought Mass Effect, don't forget to pick up your free DLC. http://masseffect.bioware.com/me1/galactic...ownthesky.html/

It seems to have installed fine, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet.

It works fine; I recently completed a playthrough of the Steam version of Mass Effect and both the free Bring Down the Sky DLC and the $5 (from the EA Store) Pinnacle Station DLC installed and worked (for me, anyways) without issue. :)

Aw. Mass Effect on PC is far better than the console offering. I can't play the Xbox 360 version much, but this one is so mcuh easier to play. xD

I feel more in control of my guys and more confident with manually levelling up and such. *shrug* Great game.

Yeah, same here. I get an error message, 'There has been an internal error initializing your transaction. Please contact support for assistance'. I'm trying to buy Mass Effect.

It's recommended that you launch the game at least once before installing the DLC.
