Will a VGA in look better than composite in?

Recommended Posts

So, as you may know, I got a PS3 the other night.

I hooked it up. I'm -VERY- surprised how quiet it is.

One thing that bothers me about it is how pixelly it looks on my PC monitor.

My 360 doesn't look anywhere near this blurry, and I'm using the VGA in.. I'm starting to hope that if I get a VGA input for my PS3, it too, will look a lot more crisp and clean.

Are my thoughts right here that instead of using composite in, it'll look better if I use a VGA in on my monitor?

Yes, VGA will look MUCH better than composite in. Composite can only do 720x480, and the brightness and color information are all carried over a single wire. DVI or HDMI would look even better though - assuming your monitor supports it.

Well.. I decided to go another route.

My monitor doesn't have an HDMI in.

I got a pretty nice tax return this year..

I'm going to chuck the tax return into a new monitor with an HDMI in so that I can get an HDMI cord and use full HDMI.
