New Mazda RX-7 may replace slow selling RX-8

I think the 13B, though a wonderful engine is starting to get a bit old in the tooth. It is pretty much the same engine since the 70's with only minor changes. I hope they go ahead with their new 16x. On the other hand the third gen body looks wonderfully modern which is quite a feat considering the design is 20 years old now. So ideally I would take a third gen with a newer rotary. The price point is important I feel and should compete with the Z and not with more expensive cars like Porsche. I think the rotary engine lends itself well to a turbo and since that is the one I have RX7 kind of means turbo to me now, so I would prefer a turbo model but they could also hold off a few years to build up some interest and knowledge base.

A lot of RX8s in this years 24 hours of Daytona. If they win it again maybe they will announce something.
