bobbba
Everything works fine in Bootcamp for me under Windows 7. +
jebus197
+1 I don't know how many times I have to say this, but that's because you are probably using an older Macbook. Moreover it doesn't work 100%. You are using drivers that aren't optimised for the specific OS you are using (Win Vista drivers). So at the very least in terms of just overall performance you are likely to take a hit somewhere.
Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted January 8, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 8, 2010 Apple edited the article on Windows 7 Bootcamp support on January 6th 2010 SummaryApple is working to support Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate) with Boot Camp in Mac OS X. This support will require a software update to Boot Camp that we plan to release as soon as it's ready. Kinda Sounds like Blizzard entertainment "As soon as it's ready"
Simon Veteran Posted January 8, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 8, 2010 Will be interesting to see if "as soon as it's ready" means they're working out a few bugs and will release ASAP, or (more likely) that it won't come for a while.
jebus197
Personally I wouldn't think it was such a big deal, but they had it on the BCC - and in several top name British newspapers. I would be happy if they were just ironing out a few bugs, but a clear indication of an alternative time scale would have been helpful too. ClintEastman
Well it's out: http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/19/apple-f...t-to-boot-camp/
ClintEastman
For me the two fingered click on the taskbar still doesn't work, also it registers a left and right click using two fingers. The odd thing is THREE fingered click works perfectly for right click. Pathetic
jebus197
Meh, it's just as useless as ever. Not nearly as bad acidental right click/select on the desktop. But my 13" late 2009 Macbook pro keeps locking up when trying to use right click on the trackpad. (So far only seen on the Web and mostly when watching YouTube - although it happened once on this page too). (By locking up I mean no mouse/trackpad movement and no inputs are possible). It 'recovers' after a couple of minutes, but after it does, it dumps the Apple trackpad drivers completely (so no multitouch at all) and you are left with just basic trackpad support. (Which I assume is the built in drivers in Windows 7 taking over). I swear it looks like Apple really doesn't give a sh*t about quality control for their Windows drivers. I mean it's not like they need to support a billion different hardware configrations, like those that exist in the 'normal' PC world. Also still no 'pinch' to zoom - or other useful gestures, even though the OS fuly supports it.
Remysaus
Did the update the other day, but windows 7 still won't recognize my magic mouse and it's still draining the battery way too fast. :( (I'm on a late 2009 15" 2.53GHZ MBP)
