XPS viewer ? Not anymore.... thanks

Recommended Posts

Hi there !

I had a great idea some weeks ago. Print my pdf documents to xps so I can tag them and add other metadata . Did it. But...

Many of these documents turned out to be above 45 - 80 - 120 pages. Here's the problem. Xps viewer uses too much ram in seven with these "little" documents. The memory consumption is around 450 - 600 megabytes ( can be 1200 ) with a simple 45 page xps file.

1. Is there a way to do something with this problem or I'm stuck with my pdf files ?

2. Is there a way to add some metadata to pdf files ( tags ) ?

Thanks everyone !

I only just noticed this viewer in my start menu the other day funnily enough .. does anyone actually use it? .. I don't even know what it's for!

Sorry OP .. don't know the answer to your questions!

Origamihl: Your screenshot clearly shows no understanding of what you are talking about. PDF as a format (ITSELF, not via the OS) has had metadata and indexing support for the last few major iterations, at least as far back as 4.

Ok . I understand it.

1. Is there a way to force windows to support the pdf metadata ?

2. How can I get pdf thumbnails ( windows 7 x64 ) ? ( I know there is a method inside the reader with the open command )

Thanks everyone !
