Do you guys think Massa would of just been slapped on the wrist if he didn't obey the orders?

Surely the look on his face in the post race interviews told you how much he didn't want to be apart of any of it. I don't think he's to blame at all.

I completly agree with you that he didnt want to be part of it and that he'd of loved to win the race.

However, that does not mean he didnt break the rules, If Alonso gets punished, so should Massa. Massa shouldnt be rewarded with a #1 finish when he broke the rules. Ferrari ordered him to let Alonso passed and he let Alonso passed. You could use almost the same argument as a reason Alonso shouldnt be punished, Alonso didnt order Massa to let him pass, Ferrari decided that it would be better.

Its nothing really do with the drivers but its the drivers who will get punished as thats the way you punish the whole team for breaking rules. Ferrari used team-orders and there drivers followed those orders, so both drivers should get punished regardless of weither they wanted to follow them or not.

Think of it like this, Team X orders a race driver to crash in order to get a safety car out which will allow there other driver to win the race.. Should that driver be punished? he had no real choice, he was ordered to crash and if he said no.. he would likely be sacked. Of course he should be punished, motive or feelings dont come into it when its just a case of 'did they break the rules'. (Note: the only reason the 'crasher' didnt get punished in the Renault case was that he was the wistleblower and got immunity in return for his account of what happend).

Ferrari fully deserve to be disqualified. Yes, we know all teams use team orders, but to do it so publicly, so obviously, and then to bare faced lie to the fans, and the media is absolutely atrocious. I have said it before and I will continue to say it, Ferrari are a greedy team that lack class.

Should be an interesting race. Vettel hasn't had to much luck converting a pole into a top podium. I expect both Ferarri's to get quite decent starts. Hopefully Hamilton can do some good off the line, but unfortunately he's got 4 very fast cars ahead of him, so he might find its better to play defensive for the race and try and do damage limitation. Can't see how Button will be second after this race :(

Who do I want to win? Well, Button, obviously, but he's still in 9th, so in that case, anyone but Alonso. I'd love if Massa won so he could rub it in his face. :p

Oh, quick question, what did Schumacher do? I heard on the commentary that he's being investigated after the race.

I think that was a mistake by the stewards. It's actually Rosberg they're investigating for his right rear coming off in the pit lane.

Great race. After the first few laps I thought it was going to be boring, but after the pit carnage all hell broke loose :D

Well done to Webber, shame for Hamilton's DNF :(

The only thing better than Alonso not finishing is Vettel getting stung too :D

Schumacher gets 10-place grid penalty

Michael Schumacher will lose ten places on the starting grid for the Belgian Grand Prix after being penalised for his driving in Hungary.

The German and Williams driver Rubens Barrichello came very close to crashing after Schumacher pushed the Brazilian against the wall on the main straight as the Brazilian attempted to pass.

The move angered Barrichello, who slammed Schumacher's move as 'crazy' after the race.

Schumacher himself said he had done nothing wrong.

The FIA stewards penalised the seven-time champion as he had "illegitimately impeded car 9 during an overtaking manoeuvre."

The Mercedes driver will lose ten places on the grid in the next race in Belgium.

Schumacher to be penalised ten grid places at Spa. Hence, he will start from 26th.

:p

Mercedes set to switch focus to 2011

Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn says his outfit will switch its focus to the 2011 car following the end of the summer break.

He said Mercedes will work on one more upgrade package that will be introduced during the Singapore Grand Prix, but admitted the main priority will be the new car once the summer break ends.

"I think there is one more step we want to do before the end of the year to take full advantage of the low exhaust position, that is something we will target for Singapore," said Brawn.

"That was coming through already but clearly after the break our priority will be the new car."

Brawn conceded the team had not been able to extract the maximum from this year's car, and felt there was no point in continuing to spend time on it.

"There were another set of regulations this year with no refuelling, and one or two other things," he said. "We didn't perhaps hit the sweet spot with the current car, so I don't think we will throw much more resource at it.

"We understand what we need to do next year and that is where we are putting our major efforts."

I'm not a fan of the 4-week break during summer, even if I can understand the need for a vacation for the teams and personnel. I need my F1 fix. :D

20,5 days left to next race now.

You could always watch NASCAR as a temporary fix. :shifty:

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
