Remember this isn't just vettel. Webber did the same thing with a lotus... Late braking and following on top of his gearbox to find out they have started braking. Both red bulls had done this now. Vettel is a good driver in my opinion, yes he screwed up this week but he was getting hot headed and frustrated. Part of being a young one.

Haha i love Gary Paffet, quote from twitter:

I think Seb Vettel is the only driver able to t-bone another car while in a straight line. Not deliberate but reckless. #F1 about 6 hours ago via Osfoora HD

Who cares if its not just Vettel, being hot headed and frustrated could have potentially lost Jenson the World Championship due to Vettels poor driving skills, the Red Bulls were redlining trying to catch up with the McLarens along the straights Vettel didnt have the power to overtake Jenson he tried to outbreak him and yanked the wheel too hard and then he tried to overcorrect and smashed into the side of Jenson. I would have got out and beat Vettel to a pulp.

He did it again later trying to overtake Liuzzi he took off part of the front wing causing him a puncture because he was being too reckless. Its by no means an isolated incident, wasnt so long ago he turned into Mark Webber when they were both at the front of the pack.

Whatever Mark Webber plans to do after his racing career - he best not try to become a singer...

He's actually pretty good. On top of that, the ad is pretty good as well. Obviously, if you like commercial pop, then no, he's not very good cause he ain't go no auto-tune goin' aye, he's a good 'ol Aussie who needs none of that crap.

Ferrari's releasing a free PC game very soon:

Ferrari has announced their Virtual Academy 2010, giving Formula One fans all around the globe access to a true-to-life simulation of their current Ferrari F10 Formula One race car.

The Virtual Academy will include Ferrari?s current Formula One challenger as well as three laser-scanned (!) tracks ? Fiorano, Mugello & the N?rburgring. The Academy comes with a global hotlap competition as the fastest drivers can win Ferrari merchandise every week. The five quickest drivers will even be invited to Maranello, participating in the official Ferrari Driving Academy.

The simulator does not just look pretty stunning as you can see below, Ferrari also promises a very realistic approach as the car has been designed based on official CAD data. In terms of physics, Ferrari has not cut any corners either, promising the most accurate virtual reproduction of a Ferrari F1 single-seater in computer simulation to date. Ferrari?s Formula One drivers have been heavily involved with testing the virtual car, making sure the driving dynamics and tyre behaviour is as realistic as possible.

The simulator will be using the same setups as the real-life F10, players will be able to match themselves against the top times set by Ferrari?s world class drivers. Furthermore, the simulation also includes a replay system and real-time global leader boards to track your progress.

This is stunning news as Ferrari is the first Formula One team to give sim racers access to an official simulator, the ingredients sound very promising and could provide for a new benchmark in open-wheel simulation.

Download of the Ferrari Virtual Academy will be available starting September 9th, for more visit the official website.

Massa grid error prompts FIA probe

By Jonathan Noble and Dieter Rencken Thursday, September 2nd 2010, 17:08 GMT

The FIA has launched an investigation into why Felipe Massa was able to start the Belgian Grand Prix slightly ahead of his grid slot without the error getting picked up at the time.

Amateur video footage that appeared on the Internet in the days after the race showed that Massa came to a stop on the grid slightly in front of where he should have been.

Massa's wrong positioning was in theory a breach of the regulations, but FIA race director Charlie Whiting received no information from the marshals at the track that the Brazilian had stopped in the wrong place - and the electronic systems in place on the grid did not detect it either - in time for a jump start penalty to be imposed.

With rival teams unaware of Massa's error, so not complaining to the FIA, the matter was not looked at in any more detail before the Belgian GP results were made official on Sunday night - which means no further action on the incident could be taken.

However, although Massa escaped punishment for what happened, the FIA has promised to look into why the wrong positioning was not picked up at the time.

"The problem was not brought to the attention of the FIA race director by either the marshals nor the automatic jump start system in time to be able to apply the appropriate penalty for jump starts," said an FIA spokeswoman.

"As no further information or complaints were received before the publication of the official result on Sunday night, the classification of the Belgian Grand Prix will now remain unchanged.

"The FIA are investigating the causes of the apparent failures in communication with race control in order to ensure a repetition is not possible."

I swear Martin or leg-end mentioned something about that?

I love the way people are calling it a scandal xD

What is a scandal is that "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Formula One Management."

It was a fan video as far as I know, not produced by them, so how could they be allowed to remove it?

Heres the video if you haven't seen it.

How could they miss that? He's probably one meter to far in front of the starting line. Wouldn't that normally have led to some sort of penalty, and probably put Massa way down the order and affect a lot of the points for the race.

Looks pretty interesting layout, the straights will give great overtaking chances for sure along with a fair few corners, it's going to give the engines something to work on and will be a low aero circuit i imagine. Kinda scares me that it still looks very unfinished though...

I don't really like the "Style" of these new tracks though, close walls etc, Singapore, Valencia, Yas Marina to a degree. They don't feel right, makes F1 feel a lot like scalextric rather than real racing...

Any news on whats happening with Ferrari today?

I know their hearing is today but i dont know what time.

Not yet, then again the Ferrari hearing only started at 15:00 CEST.

    • Ladybird Browser is no longer accepting outside contributions thanks to AI by David Uzondu The Ladybird Browser Project has announced it will no longer accept public pull requests and will limit changes to those made by its maintainers as it works towards its first alpha release. According to Ladybird's creator Andreas Kling, this is "not a change we make lightly," but the rapid shift in AI capabilities forced their hand. Previously, a massive PR implied that the person behind it put a lot of care into the code and is ready to "answer for the consequences." Now with AI, anyone can generate a PR without even understanding the bug fix or feature they want merged. The blog post goes on to say that the team is closing all open public pull requests immediately, and that maintainers will not treat external forks as a review queue for upstream Ladybird. Instead, the team wants outside contributors to focus on reporting bugs and running tests. Kling started Ladybird back in 2019 as LibHTML, a simple HTML viewer for his hobby operating system, SerenityOS, but by September 2022, it had turned into a full-fledged browser project. What sets Ladybird apart from the likes of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox is its totally independent engine, which does not rely on pre-existing codebases. The project maintains a strict policy against default search engine deals or user data monetization, keeping development funded entirely by donations and sponsorships. Generative AI is forcing open source project maintainers to rethink how they handle public code contributions (and the whole open-source thing in general). One month ago, a leak about the National Health Service (NHS) suggested the organization was planning to take all of its public repositories private ahead of a May 11 deadline, thanks to Mythos (an AI model that Anthropic believes is too dangerous to be released to the public) and its ability to find and write exploits for zero-day vulnerabilities. Thankfully, the Government Digital Service (GDS) issued a counter-report titled "AI, open code and vulnerability risk in the public sector" that stopped the shutdown by pointing out that hiding code does not improve security.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
