hmm, ok...would be nice if u could

Just pause and got to squad menu, then cycle through your squad members. To keep you chars up to date go to wherever your ship is parked and instead of 'return to normandy' select squad mates and you can quick swap in, update, then swap in others again if needed to select all their points.

What I have been doing..but I wish you could do it via your terminal on the ship.

I find scanning planets for materials annoying as hell as well. Man, boring and I about fall asleep doing it.

But anyway, going thru my 2nd time as a Soldier/Renegade...dont have much Paragon at all. All my crew is loyal so far...so I am trying to keep it that way. The plan is to beat the game with everyone loyal and alive.

Where might I find that? I've finished the game twice and am currently on my 3rd run. So far I haven't found anything new on the 3rd run, but that would certainly do it.

FYI for anyone: I think Mordin Solus swings both ways. He sure hinted at it very strongly.

He's referring to this video I posted a couple pages back. It's not from within the game, it's just something someone made.

Assigning Garrus to lead the other teams, Tali or Legion in the pipe, Samara or Miranda to block the swarm, and Grunt or Jacob to take the crew back to the Normandy will result in everyone surviving.

Zaeed might be able to successfully lead in place of Garrus, but I haven't tried with him being loyal.

I don't think Miranda works as the biotic specialist, despite what she tells you and despite her loyalty. At least not according to this video (jump to 6:35):

Miranda is wearing the loyalty outfit here, so she seems to screw up even when loyal.

As for getting everybody to survive, my sister did all of the loyalty missions and selected Legion, Thane, Jacob, and Samara as the tech expert, escort, fireteam leader, and biotic specialist (respectively) and Mordin still ended up dying. She brought Garrus and Grunt to fight the Human-Reaper with her, so perhaps that had something to do with it? Not enough firepower in the distraction team perhaps?

Question guys. So far I have Garrus, Jack, Solus, the krogan in stasis (Still I havent freed him) and just got back from horizon where I had a very emotional reunion. Now the Illusive Man gave me more coordinates for more team members. Jacob just told me about his loyalty mission. My question is: What would be the best strategy to get as many missions done before taking the final one? I want for everyone to survive.

Yup, SyntaxError's advice is the best here, and it's exactly what I told my sister. You're best off doing absolutely everything you want to do before heading to retrieve the IFF.

I have gone through the "Suicide misson" 3 times, each time selecting Mordin (loyal) to escort the survivors of the crew back to the Normandy and each time he lived. For the second team leader on first playthrough I went for Garrus, on the 2nd and 3rd for Miranda (both loyal). And each of them lived. The 2nd time Jack died because i sided with Miranda when they were arguing. On the last playthrough only Thali died, because I decided to reveal the truth about her fathers research.

Using Mordin as the escort seems to be the safest bet. I'm playing through again (as a brand new character, not imported), and I'm definitely going to send him back this time. I just hope I have enough Paragon or Renegade points to settle the Miranda/Jack situation properly, since I no longer have the point bonus from importing a character. I'm also worried about Tali's loyalty mission, since you need either high Paragon or high Renegade to clear her without exposing her father's research (if I recall correctly). We'll see how it goes.

it was pretty kool when i just beat the game how everything turned out and how i went about the whole game amazing things happened and i will keep playing until theres nothing left to explore!

But along the lines of choices in the game everything has a reason for happening and it's nice to see the lines made black or white and good and bad and maybe next time i can break up the miranda and jack fight haha.

and sorry i don't know to make the text black out like everyone did so beware of spoiler in my post methinks.

I had about 2/5 on renegade scale and I was able to keep both Mirandas and Jacks loyalty.

I was so happy when I learned that the Mako was taken out of ME2. I didn't mind moving around the planets with it, since they were so vast that you could easily move around enemy fire (or just anticipate it and jump over), but really cramped areas like Ferros were a pain in the ass. There were a few points where I just got out of the vehicle and sniped some of the smaller Geth, just to thin out the herd. I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of a new vehicle, just as long as they completely overhaul the driving mechanics (make it more like the Warthog in Halo perhaps?).

Congrats on getting everyone to survive. I think you're right about loyalty, and how it isn't just black and white. That's pretty interesting that Tali would die as your tech expert, since that isn't suppose to happen. Legion and Tali are suppose to be the two choices (whereas anybody else dies no matter what). I think that pretty much confirms that loyalty isn't black and white. Perhaps Mordin wasn't completely loyal in my game, which is why he died. Maybe I just didn't talk to him enough or something.

[...]

I guess I was too. The Mako missions were a little cumbersome, but the handling was improved in the PC version (which is the only version I played). I look forward to a new vehicle. I just hope it isn't a rinse/repeat of the Mako missions.

Thanks. Yep, that has to be it. Loyalty isn't just black and white. There's varying degrees of loyalty. I always thought that once my crew member was loyal, that was it. Turns out you can lose their loyalty - sometimes in a loyalty mission (as is with the case of Tali). You can lose enough loyalty for her to die in the final mission if you expose her father. I didn't have Mordin die for me at all so I must've had him 100% loyal. Speaking of percentages, a loyalty percentage would've been good. For example, above 60% loyalty = endgame survivability.

Getting everyone to survive the suicide mission is a matter of having the loyalty of every member, assigning the right people to the right jobs, and advancing on the map quick enough. It's pretty easy to do actually.

Those who aren't loyal will die no matter what you do. Illusive Man, Jacob and probably others have been saying as much throughout the entire game. Your team must be focused on the mission, not their personal issues.

Also I'm not sure if your speed in advancing through the ship matters beyond opening the gates in the pipe.

Actually, it's about having the right amount of loyalty as well as the right role.

I chose Tali as my tech expert and she died no matter what I did or how fast I made it through the first part of the final mission. I did her loyalty mission but I exposed her father which may have decreased her loyalty enough to affect her survivability. In my case, it resulted in her death 100% of the time in the heat pipes.

She must've lost loyalty with Mordin then. That's the only explanation.

I had the same thing happen with my Tali. I gained her loyalty in the loyalty mission, but I lost enough of it to affect her chance of survival by exposing her father.

Using Mordin as the escort seems to be the safest bet. I'm playing through again (as a brand new character, not imported), and I'm definitely going to send him back this time. When I played the final mission, I didn't choose to send an escort. If I were to choose though, I'd send Jacob. I'll use Mordin instead though. I'm sure he'll survive as I have him at 100% loyalty. As for Tali's loyalty mission, I was one bar away from max Renegade and I didn't have enough to choose the Renegade dialogue option. My guess is you need max Renegade to choose it.

Well guys if I don't stay on MW2 forever, I plan to do a ME2 spree and get as much done as possible. I know I still have one or two loyalty missions left! Who is the character/teammate on the far left of the team screen? I can't remember if I have that person or not when calculating how many loyalty missions I have left.

The far left is Zaeed Massani from the DLC. Before that, IIRC is Tali.

Actually, it's Legion. Zaeed Massani's spot is added after you install the Zaeed Massani DLC.

Yeah that video reminds me of my first run.

I used loyal Miranda, with Thane and Mordin also loyal, and I lost Thane anyway. No idea what determined it was Thane who died though.

I had forgotten about this. Good catch.

There is no loyalty amount. The NPCs are either loyal or they aren't.

I used loyal Tali as well on my second run and she survived just fine.

I'm starting to wonder if there's some hidden factor that helps the game determine things.

Well I have read accidentally seen enough spoilers in this thread to know that your crew dies on this suicide mission if they are not loyal to you. Is there a lot left before the suicide mission after I get the reaper iff so that I can gain more paragon points to talk down Miranda in her office?

I just completed my second playthrough on Renegade.

All my team members were loyal. Completed all their missions successfully. Also had the ship upgrades. At first completion I didn't have all that, so a lot of my team died. This time everyone survived but the crew (didn't give them an escort. D'OH) and Mordin. I don't know why he died. Tali was my tech expert, Miranda my second squad leader, and Samara the biotic expert. Everything worked out great except Mordin dying. And the crew, but that was my own damn fault. :(

If you answer all the questions correctly maybe, but then you would have to been answering all the questions correctly from teh beginning which I'm guessing you didn't, because sometimes, some decisions seem the paragorn thing to do and they added renegade points ( at least to me anway).

BUT if take too much time after the IFF, the ships crew will die off and you will only get to rescue half of the ship screw or if longer, none.

That is so weird, almost the exact same thing happened to me. Everybody on my team was loyal (except Miranda) and

Tali died randomly during the suicide mission

Any chance I had to do a paragon anything I did. I think I did almost all of the side missions too.

I chose to destroy the facility at the end and now the Illusive Man is extremely ****ed. What happens if you save the facility?
