Elliot B.
Is it possible to create a rule in Gmail that automatically moves e-mail containing a certain word into a certain folder, like you can in Windows Live Hotmail? www3000 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/867298-making-gmail-automatically-move-e-mail-into-a-folder-when-received/ Share on other sites
Lee G. Veteran Posted January 21, 2010 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2010 That can be done. Settings > Filters > Create a new filter > In the 'Has the words' box, type the words you want > Next Step ? > In the 'Apply the label' dropdown choose the label you want to apply > Create Filter. www3000 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/867298-making-gmail-automatically-move-e-mail-into-a-folder-when-received/#findComment-592135652 Share on other sites

That appears to simply apply a label to the e-mail, therefore allowing it to appear in the label-folder. However, it doesn't seem move it from the Inbox, just 'copies' it to the label-folder. www3000 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/867298-making-gmail-automatically-move-e-mail-into-a-folder-when-received/#findComment-592135656 Share on other sites
