iPod Touch (2G) and streaming problems

Hi there

I have a iPod touch 2G.

Most videos I try to play stream for about 1 minute, or less than a minute, and then stop completely. It doesn't even try to buffer any more even after pressing play when it has stopped.

It does it on YouTube, and any other video I try to use that are MP4 format and streamed via the internet.

Background info:

I'm on Virgin Media here in the UK, 20mbps, and using the NETGEAR WGT624 v4 with latest firmware on both iPod and router.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Edit:

This can be repro on a second iPod touch that is late 2009 version (no idea if it counts as 2G or 3G).
